Permastickied until the election

We think nationally a lot, but let's talk local for a bit!

Rules for this thread are pretty simple. Top-level posts must be structured as such or they'll be deleted:

[STATE]

[COUNTY/CITY/etc (if applicable)]

[Position title. School board, police chief, dog catcher, tax hike, etc.]: -Who is the MAGA candidate(s), or Yes/No to the initiative. Please include an explanation (and link, if possible)

Example:

NORTH DAKOTA

FARGO COUNTY

Police Chief:

-Deputy Dangle. He puts rollerskating hookers away and doesn't afraid of anything

School tax increase

-Vote NO. They're failing our students, churning out rollerskating hookers. They'll use the money for rayciss training anyway.

If you're looking for advice for your state/county, ctrl-F and search for it. If nothing comes up, do some research and advise others!

[OKLAHOMA] [CLEVELAND COUNTY/Oklahoma City] Note: OKC spreads over 2 counties; I live in Cleveland, so my ballot looks a bit different than someone who lives in Oklahoma County.

Oklahoma State Question 814: Decrease Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Fund Deposits and Fund Medicaid Program Amendment

  • Vote yes. Since we decided to fuck up (expand) our Medicare back in June, we have to pay for it somehow, and this gives us the option to do that without raising taxes... for now.

Oklahoma State Question 805: Criminal History in Sentencing and Sentence Modification Initiative

  • Vote NO. Incarceration rates in Oklahoma are awful, but allowing "nonviolent" felons to go on crime sprees and become career criminals will have an adverse affect on our horrendous child trafficking situation and opioid problem. Just look at who's backing it and you'll see what I mean: https://ballotpedia.org/Oklahoma_State_Question_805,Criminal_History_in_Sentencing_and_Sentence_Modification_Initiative(2020)#Background

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 1, Mayor and City Council Elections Charter Amendment -Yes. Cleans up some language and moves some dates for elections.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 2, Mayor and City Council Candidate Qualifications Charter Amendment

  • NO. Allows people who have barely lived in OKC to run for mayor and/or city council. You need to live here and acclimate before you start trying to run things.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 3, Timeline for Vice Mayor Vacancies Charter Amendment

  • Yes. No reason it should take month to confirm vice-mayor.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 4, Regular City Council Meeting Days Charter Amendment

  • No. Sorry, if you work for a city office, you have to WORK. Why take on the position if you don't wanna work?

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 5, Information about City Employee Job Performance Provided to the City Manager Charter Amendment

  • Yes.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 6, Members of the Division of Public Affairs and Division of Public Management Charter Amendment

  • No. City government doesn't need to be any bigger.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 7, Gender-Neutral Language for City Council Provisions Charter Amendment

  • No. This is more of a spite vote, but this is petty PC mongering at it's finest.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 8, Add Welfare as a Reason for Ordinances and Language Reorganization Charter Amendment

  • NO. Who knows what the word "welfare" could mean? The language is fine as is.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Proposition 9, Accepting Things of Value from Private Businesses Charter Amendment

  • Yes.

President of the United States -Donald Trump/Mike Pence (a given).

U.S. House Oklahoma District 4

  • Tom Cole. He wasn't my first choice, but Bob White won't win and Brannon is a Democrat.

U.S. Senate Oklahoma

  • Jim Inhofe. Only voting for him to keep Abby Broyles away from the senate.

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner

  • Todd Hiet.

Oklahoma Supreme Court Seats

  • I always vote no on retaining them. They don't need to sit forever, but I seem to be in the minority on this.

Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Seats

  • See above.

Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals

  • See above.

Oklahoma State Senate District 45

  • Paul Rosino.

Oklahoma State Senate District 45

  • Jon Echols.

Cleveland County Sheriff

  • Chris Amason. Wasn't my first choice, but I think he has a better record than Owings.

I agree with you about Inhofe.
