I take the inverse. I think they just sluff off the gulag, reeducation, etc... and say thats not real communism. They just write off the mention of that as right wing BS, or not real communism. What they cannot explain for the life of them all comes down to the idea that communism would require an armed revolution. That is my point in getting them to explain how we could implements such with a tax based system. First they have to admit that a tax based system could not be changed without a revolution which is much easier than getting them to admit gulags would appear. Just my two cents, I dont give 2 fucks about commies, I was a fucking commie in my early 20s. The easiest way to get over that is to move out of moms and start paying taxes (yeah cliche but its so true). After enough years of that, communism seems like kid shit.
It's not that different really. I ask about the people that don't want it in reference to the switch from capitalism to communism. That's what gets them to realize that they really would have to have a violent revolution. Most of the soft communists don't realize that part. They think they can just vote it in and everyone else will go along.
