even if you had magical fusion energy available right now and could instantly spin up enough plants to power the country without oil / coal AND you had enough batteries to power all the electric cars you'd have to make it would STILL be fucking retarded. those jobs and communities cant just learn completely different trades over night and the jobs will be nowhere near the communities. there wouldnt be enough jobs in those trades in any event. and the air force and the trucking industry and shipping will run on oil / jet fuel for a long fucking time. no battery is going to replace a diesel engine in a tractor in the next 50 years. even if you could make the batteries have 10x energy dense that only amounts to 15 gallons of diesel fuel. thats about 15 acres of plowing before it needs 10 hours to recharge. jesus christ monkey balls.
The leftists just don't realize that their electric car they use to run 5-10 miles to the store and back and recharge overnight is just a fraction if the uses of fossil fuel. They don't ever consider how the food gets to the stores, supplies to the hardware store, etc.
You need something that can run for long periods of time and be replenished quickly. Right now batteries aren't even close to replacing diesel, gas or LP/natural gas for transportation or emergency backup.
