That's right folks. I was diagnosed with COVID19 also known as Kung Flu. Ive had it since last week. Ive had flus worse than this. But I find the complete lack of smell disturbing. Anyone have a cold or flu that knocked out their sniffer?

Dm me if possible— can’t risk having a crazed dem doxx me.

Preventative measures:

  • Vit C. (Don’t go too crazy with it but worst case scenario, you will get diarrhea as it’s hard to OD on something water soluble).
  • Vit D (this you could potentially OD on but it requires a lot of IUs to do so. You would get a very rough headache and, in extreme cases, kidney stones are possible).
  • Zinc (helps with immunity and destroying fibrosis)
  • Inhaled Corticosteroids (like fluticasone) seem to be fairly effective with limiting toxicities— it doesn’t get readily absorbed into blood stream so its effects are localized to respiratory epithelium. It also decreased fibrosis (scarring) of the lungs which is one of the only worrying things about Covid. It’s essentially a weak but localized dexamethasone (which has shown decreased mortality in covid patients).
  • Measure oxygen saturation (if O2 drops below 95, try a rescue inhaler or supplemental oxygen). If you do not have those, or it is less than 95%, go to the hospital.
  • if you have a Co-morbid condition (diabetes, previous heart disease, COPD, Asthma), your threshold for going to the hospital should be lower.
  • Vote Trump 2020

Course of disease: Yuge range. Majority = asymptomatic. Slightly less have mild symptoms from fever, 1-2 days of muscle pain and night sweats, 1-2 weeks of dry cough. Cough duration & fever are the biggest clinical prognostic factors so far. (Makes sense since both mean you have an infection in your lung).

If you get it, my patients have had a lot of success sleeping reclined at 45 degrees rather than lying flat. That way there is less of a collapsing force on your lungs and decreased spread of edema. Laying on your stomach (prone) has also been shown to decrease effortful breathing.

Fluids, fluids, fluids. If you’re an asthmatic, go to town on that inhaler or nebulizer.
