Can a flu cause a complete loss of smell and blunting of taste? Im told I have COVID but the drop in Flu cases this year leaves me suspicious.

That's right folks. I was diagnosed with COVID19 also known as Kung Flu. Ive had it since last week. Ive had flus worse than this. But I find the complete lack of smell disturbing. Anyone have a cold or flu that knocked out their sniffer?

If I remember right, hantavirus can cause loss of smell/taste. Don't know about flu, but it's not an altogether uncommon symptom of viral infection.
