That's right folks. I was diagnosed with COVID19 also known as Kung Flu. Ive had it since last week. Ive had flus worse than this. But I find the complete lack of smell disturbing. Anyone have a cold or flu that knocked out their sniffer?

Loss of smell is associated with the respiratory side effects of trying to get rid of a virus. The body produces mucus at insane levels as a defense mechanism.
Anytime your nose and sinuses are inflamed and packed with junk, you won’t have the sense of smell. To say it’s covid based on that side effect alone is a misnomer.
Facts. However its peculiar that I can breath 100% out of my nose with no serious drainage. BUT as I smell, i can feel that my sinsuses are inflamed .
I can’t remember the name of the process, but your body throws what amounts to acid over a large swath of the back of the throat and sinus cavity in an attempt to fry the virus at the entry point. Think of it like burning a field of grass to kill one snake. It’s indiscriminate and does damage to the lining of the cavities. You may or may not get mucus as a side effect, but air passing over the raw mucosal lining is what your describing.
If you were tested and came up positive, I’d go for a second test almost immediately from a different source if possible. Hell, entire sports teams have been told they have it and then we’re told that was incorrect and didn’t have it. You may or may not have it, but your course of action should be the same for any cold. Slam water like it’s goin’ out of style, eat quality food high in vitamins and minerals, rest and let your immune system do its job.
Don’t forget, using your brain takes a lot of calories and effort. Try and relax with a movie or music instead of surfing the internet.
