In July, Mediaite senior editor Joe DePaolo predicted that although Smith’s new CNBC show would likely be “terrific,” few people would ever see it.
“Shepard Smith is superb at what he does. His integrity is impeccable. He delivers the news without fear or favor. He pulls no punches during interviews with newsmakers on both sides of the aisle,” wrote DePaolo.
“And his new show is likely doomed. Completely, hopelessly doomed,” DePaolo added, explaining that cable news viewers generally reward opinion and argument, and that few from Smith’s Fox News audience would be likely to follow him to CNBC. “Odds are that his new show will not upset many. But that’s only because they won’t be watching in the first place,” DePaolo concluded.
While at Fox, he spent an awful lot of air time talking about Mueller’s integrity being impeccable. Anyone talking about Mueller having impeccable integrity has no integrity himself.
There was nothing more pathetic when he and Napolitano did whole segments feigning outrage at Trump as rumors about Russia came out. Tucker’s best contribution to Fox was to call him out And get to quit.
Presumably somebody in CNBC senior management thought he'd do well. Personally I can't quite fathom who would pass up all the other offerings in that time slot -- which include MacCallum on FNC, the same-day repeat of Lou Dobbs on FBN, and former Fox Newser Greg Kelly on Newsmax -- to watch Shep. The loony lefties who watch CNN and MSNBC in the evenings aren't likely to even check out CNBC, much less start watching it habitually, no matter who's on.
The only reason he was pulling 1.3 million viewers on Fox was because of where he was in the schedule. From 12-4 it's Outnumbered, Outnumbered Overtime (Harris Faulkner's show), Dana Perino, then Shepard (now replaced by Bill Hemmer). If you looked at the ratings scoreboard, they consistently showed (and still show) a loss of viewers from hour to hour, with Outnumbered pulling the most viewers.
Honestly, this is daytime TV aimed largely at stay-at-home moms (in the key 25-54 age range) and secondarily at retirees. It's generally pleasant background noise, to help people stay awake while doing household chores while the kids (or grandkids) are at school. So a lot of the "viewers" weren't (and still aren't) really paying attention. Especially in the later part of that 4 hour block, the ratings largely reflect people who just haven't yet gotten around to changing the channel or turning off the TV.
I predict Shep will soon be gone. By all accounts, he's an arrogant jerk, so it's unlikely anyone who matters at CNBC will be going to bat for him.
In other news, TIL that Shepard Smith actually had another show. Who knew?
Seriously. When did he go to CNBC?
Yeah, don't know.
And, does it matter, really?
Maybe they should move him to a gay channel where he can do news for them?
CNN?
CBC?
BBC.
Probably not what Al Jazeera is looking for.
Tonight only, Shepard Smith joins Al Jazeera as a rooftop reporter.
Cocks Nipples and Nutz? CowBoys Cocks? Big Black Cocks?
He always sucked.
Who did he think he was? Megyn Kelly?
He actually wears more makeup.
lmao

I forgot this guy existed.
He’s hoping to end up fired like kelly
Megyn Kelly's new podcast has actually been kinda decent for what it is.
...... she has fuck you money now
They put it after Mad Money which is popular and he still can't get ratings.
Oh, no! That sucks.
There was nothing more pathetic when he and Napolitano did whole segments feigning outrage at Trump as rumors about Russia came out. Tucker’s best contribution to Fox was to call him out And get to quit.
Was he expected to do better? Seems right to me.... maybe more mascara would draw them in.

bahahaha fuck that dude
So, standard ratings for Shep then?
No, he's a whiney lying shit.
Sorry, not sorry.

Actually it's a good show.
