I see a lot of anecdotal stories from folks living in countries with universal healthcare about the lack of availability of certain drugs and sedation as well as waiting forever to see a doctor and get tests done yet they still believe it’s better than the US for some reason because of muh insurance companies..
I think the last person who actually followed through on that "threat" was Pierre Salinger in 2004, and he was living in his native France half the time before that point in the first place, so it's not like that was a huge setback for him.
