A man brandishing, approaching, following, and threatening police, with a knife, while ignoring orders to put it down was shot by two officers today. All on camera if you wish to search for it.
The officers should have deployed essential oils and sage to calm this gentle giant down. Or at least deployed a social worker at him which would have kept his pimp hand, I mean knife hand, occupied so that they could have then hugged him.

It's not anger they feel but opportunity. Look how many are killed in Chicago on any given weekend, but because they're killed by broke gangsters - noone's out rioting for them.

True for some of the rioters. But for others it's a narcissistic reaction to anger. They're not just smashing up stores, but other property along the way because they don't know how to deal with their unresolved issues.
Whether that be some kind of mental illness, dissatisfaction with themselves, or anger that their community is filled with violence and there's no way to realistically fix it (without a bunch of people taking individual responsibility). The rioters unleash it outwards and harm others rather than hold it in and try to process it themselves.
Are we really surprised that a bunch of wife beaters, thieves and pedophiles are mad that the cops will shoot them if they try to attack the cops and want to get rid of cops entirely?
I mean, it's not like it's coincidence that Kyle shot one of each when they tried to murder him.
Best way to help him after he's been shot is to all crowd around him so the cops can't secure him, which they need to do before they start rendering aid!
