Are you joking. And just the other day there was a man fighting with an officer, and he pulled out a gun in the scuffle and tried to use it.

Jesus fucking christ how stupid can you be. Even if it was a relative I'd think "well yeah it's sad but he must've had a death wish to do that, and I'm not gonna riot. Not even protest. I'll just sit here and wonder wtf was wrong with him."

I feel bad for the ptsd these officers must have having to deal with all this crap and guilt just for working a necessary job.

It's not anger they feel but opportunity. Look how many are killed in Chicago on any given weekend, but because they're killed by broke gangsters - noone's out rioting for them.

It's a way for the family to get gibs, and the rest of the "community" to loot. That's all.

True for some of the rioters. But for others it's a narcissistic reaction to anger. They're not just smashing up stores, but other property along the way because they don't know how to deal with their unresolved issues.

Whether that be some kind of mental illness, dissatisfaction with themselves, or anger that their community is filled with violence and there's no way to realistically fix it (without a bunch of people taking individual responsibility). The rioters unleash it outwards and harm others rather than hold it in and try to process it themselves.
