If the Democrats ever take power again we are done as a nation, they won't wait to boil the frog again. The Dems are not a normal political party anymore, they are a full blown communist insurrection and will act as such the second they get in. The only way forward is for the Dems to no longer exist as a national force. We need to move forward with that plan, not hedge our bets against an eventual Democrat win. If the Senate changes the rules, it only takes a simple majority to change them back. That's how they eliminated the judicial filibuster in the first place.
If the Democrats change the rules, ram through legislation, and then change the rules back, Republicans will just do the same thing the next time they're in control (if it ever happens).
