The 22nd Amendment -which limits Presidents to two terms - is only 70 years old
If the left is going to talk about packing the court - which has been at nine justices for over 150 years - why can’t we talk about getting Trump a third term?

I don't like any of this psuedo-facist shit.
8 years. No packing courts. Destroy the intelligence groups that can undermine the government above them. Restore checks and balances Politicians are held to a higher legal standard - if caught committing even small crimes they should have considerable worst sentences or punishment.
Actually FDR was a 4 term President but he died before he could serve out his 4th term.
George walked away in 8. Term limits need to exist when running the government, especially the Executives office. I would call FDR being the only President pompous enough to extend themselves beyond 8 is/was a black eye on the President's office and our government.
Wait until you have a 35 year old who never stops getting elected and turns his position into a kleptocracy...ransacking the taxpayer...
Oh wait - that sounds like Joe Biden, cause Senators don't have term limits.
I get it - however, "authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition" - sounds like someone changing the court system to benefit themselves....or someone changing the rules of how many years they can stay in office...sounds like Xi or Putin.
thus my use of the word. I think it fits.
You shouldn't be getting downvoted. It's a fair opinion.
However, I really don't see how the swamp gets drained without bending the rules. Habeas Corpus was suspended during the civil war and it's my opinion that the tensions we're facing now are greater than that era. The only reason we haven't broken out into full civil conflict is that Americans are huge pussies compared to 150 years ago (and also States don't have nearly the same level of autonomy).
How do you even begin to punish the thousands upon thousands of criminals within our government and corporate sectors while following the decorum implemented by those very criminals? I don't see a way.
Agreed on all counts. Though I do like the snarky "hold the Left to their own standards" tone of this sort of post/attack on them.
Damn good point!
I like how he thinks! 3 seems to be a good number. 3 scoops, 3 SCOTUS picks so why not 3 terms?
5 SCOTUS picks, 5 terms, 5 scoops.
This is dumb. There is not a constitutional amendment on the number of justices in the court. We should instead push for an amendment and not push for a third term.
