This is why Early Voting/mail-in voting should NEVER take place before debates are done. The American people should not be allowed to make decisions before hearing all the facts. I personally don't think Early Voting should happen at all, but at most it should be for a few days before the election, not weeks. And mail-in voting should only be allowed for specific reasons and you should have to actually request a ballot, not just be sent one even if you don't ask for it.

I'm sorry for all the people who were fooled by the Fake News and now have seen the truth, but this is why we need stricter election laws in place and a more informed populace.

thisisatestof2 129 points ago +130 / -1

Yep. None of this vote a month out BS. In person early voting no more then 48 hours prior to election day and mail in ballots, which you MUST request, and they don't get mailed until after the last debate.

83
BubblesPink 83 points ago +84 / -1

Exactly, we have Election Day, not election month, for a reason. There's no reason people need that much time to go vote, there are rarely lines in my city to vote, I think the max I've ever waited is 15 minutes and I've been voting since 2011.

I'm pretty much against all mail-in voting except for those in the armed forces, abroad or who have something preventing them from getting to the polls. You should have to request it AND give a valid reason why you need an absentee ballot.

I'm usually for state's rights and against federal intervention, but with the way these democratic governors flout the rules and just rewrite election law to their liking I think we need some federal guidelines that ALL states have to follow. For one your ballot must be in BY election day and you cannot count votes received after that time. Also no "finding ballots" in a box somewhere, if they're not accounted for they don't count.

Realistically how isn't this in the federal government's court? States have complete control over all election except the federal one (General election) where the federal government has some powers.

5
Block_Helen 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's just not. If it was, you'd see consistency across the country. And frankly I'm glad it's not, or the Dems would ensure that we had three months to vote and all kinds of other horrible ideas.

1
thisisatestof2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have voted in every major election since 2004. I have yet to have an issue waiting more than 10-15 minutes at the suburban polling locations I have always voted at. The cities where you have hours ling lines usually are Dem run and need to fix their issues. No reason you cant find a way to expiate the process or split some of the larger areas into two to add another polling location.

Brave1884 0 points ago +4 / -4

I’m honestly not against any of it. It’s pretty much only recent history where Election Day is the only Voting day. If Election Day is going to be the only day, then the electoral needs to meet the day after and the inauguration the day after that.

We have a month between Election Day and congress meeting to count and get the votes sent to congress so the electoral can vote. This month not only allows both parties to count votes it lets us find fraud and actually dispute it.

10
sir_rockness 10 points ago +10 / -0

It actually was pretty dope to go vote straight GOP party ticket yesterday....

8
Block_Helen 8 points ago +8 / -0

It’s pretty much only recent history where Election Day is the only Voting day.

Not sure what you mean by this. Election Day is spelled out in the Constitution. They only fixed one day for it and that's back when it took a week to get from Philadelphia to Boston.

One day and tons of polling places. That's how it should work.

When I was a kid in Louisville, my parents voted at the neighbor's house. The voting machines were in their garage. True story.

If people don't want to wait in line, tough shit.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
2
ShalomRPh 2 points ago +2 / -0

When I was a kid (70s) the polling place was the back room of the barbershop. You could get a haircut while waiting for your turn at the voting booth, and that was the day they did the most business.

Then people complained about unfair advantages, and they shifted it to the public school.

1
orange_dit 1 point ago +1 / -0

and the inauguration the day after that.

That's too rushed. You want there to be a transition period. Moving it up to January first may be better, so a new year starts with a new president.

1
lerm4comptroller 1 point ago +1 / -0

The GOP was actually not allowed to dispute election results for the majority of my lifetime, so I'm not really sure that reasoning holds all that much water.

Sure, I buy it. But you can't tell me that it's important to the government as they upheld the rule, the law as a judge implemented it, or even the people as I never heard a Democrat complain about it.

I'm just having a hard time believing this is such an important "tradition" when the only time I hear about it is during an election the Democrats are losing.

3
TheDonkeyPirate 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't worry, once they realize more Republicans than ever voted this election, they will get rid of it.

53

The American people should not be allowed to make decisions before hearing all the facts.

Well there goes 90% of voters then LOL

24
BubblesPink 24 points ago +24 / -0

That's very true unfortunately haha! It's actually really sad how uneducated our society has become, I saw someone on twitter ask why Nancy Pelosi didn't filibuster ACB's nomination for 3 weeks and she literally had no idea why people were calling her out... I've always thought a civics test should be required to vote, but I guess that would rule out most of the electorate lol.

You know in Australia they -have- to vote? No matter if they don't care or don't pay attention. Worst system ever.

8
Notablitheringidiot 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes, terrible. Introduced by the Labor party by the way (Australia’s Democrats)

5
MAUSGA 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, you get fined for not voting here (well, you get fined for everything here). Unbelievably stupid, though I must say I generally have a lot of trust in our elections otherwise.

2
ShalomRPh 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’ve heard that you’re required to show up and cast a ballot, but you don’t have to actually vote for anybody; if you leave the ballot blank and stick it in the box, you’re covered. Is this true?

1
MAUSGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

True. I also have a relative who simply goes to get his name marked off and then leaves without taking a ballot at all - that's technically not allowed, but as far as I know he's never been fined for that.

4

1
Notablitheringidiot 1 point ago +1 / -0

Most people just don’t care enough to learn “all the facts”.

Voting has always been about exploiting emotions, not facts.

13
speakonlythetrump 13 points ago +14 / -1

Completely agree. I also think that pollsters should be regulated and that polls should NOT be shown until Election day. It's so easy to influence pollsters to create their own narrative and skew the results. It's bullshit. I know for a fact that the current polls shown by CNN and MSM are fake news.

8
Guruchild 8 points ago +8 / -0

But that’s a slippery slope. It violates free speech. Let them do their worst, they are about to be smacked upside the head with a two-by-Trump. Go vote.

I do have money on this. Not only did I bet on Trump's victory, but I bet on him holding the Senate and taking the house. I got 5:1 odds and guess what? I'm walking away with Christmas money because I know Trump will win and his victory will help the legislature..plus..the house only needs to flip 16 seats, that's easy. The Senate, even though there's more republicans facing re-election, almost all are in republican states and we might even pick up a few of there's. Up in Michigan it looks like Lt.Col John James is going to beat Democrap Incumbent Gary Peters. Like I said easy money, because I know these people are only good at bitching on Twitter...nothing more.

a place called "playnow". I'm not going to put a link in case it breaks the rules of the website, but just put the name into duck duck go. Also, if you want my bet "Republicans take the house senate and presidency", the payout has increast to 5.5. This is hilarious because the actual trend is the reverse. I could end up with 225 bucks for a risk of 50...and it's not much of a risk. I think the dems are going to get crushed because the real date from the primary model and here: https://joeisdone.github.io/ points to a landslide, possibly a 1984 style landslide. This is going to be easy money. Use use my winnings on christmas gifts and then go buy myself a nice curved oversized monitor.

0
Wtf_socialismreally 0 points ago +1 / -1

I just don't think that's true. I think we'll see 10-30 million more voters than last election.

11
SoldierofKek 11 points ago +11 / -0

I agree but for other reasons. If republicans vote early in jurisdictions where the opposition controls the governorship and the largest counties, then they know exactly how many ballots they have to fake. The only places republicans are voting early in any significant numbers are states like Florida, Ohio and Arizona because all are controlled by the republican party. If I lived in Pennsylvania or Michigan or Wisconsin or my home state Illinois there is no way in hell I'd vote early. No way! I guarantee if republicans were the ones voting early in Pennsylvania and we had an 800.000 vote lead, Tom Wolf would magically find 900.000 ballots somewhere.

7
SLP123 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yes but we voted for Trump in person early in Illinois because we were scared that Pritzger would shut down the polls or pull some other shenanigans on election day. He shut down the schools last week, then this week the restaurants. He's rapidly shutting everything down because.....ooooooooooooohhhhhh.... COVID cases are up!!!! There wasn't even one kid or teacher afflicted in our county but out of an "abundance of caution, it was still shut down. Now I'm worried my vote won't count.

5
SoldierofKek 5 points ago +5 / -0

Are you by chance in the third judicial district? If so this is our chance to flip the supreme court. At first I was a bit skeptical of our republican candidate for Senate but you know what..he's kinda growing on me. Balanced budget amendment..rock on. Clamp down on illegal immigration. Yep. Clamp down on China..yep. he sounds full maga to me.

3
hypebeast420 3 points ago +3 / -0

"Yes but we voted for Trump in person early in Illinois because we were scared that Pritzger would shut down the polls or pull some other shenanigans on election day"

I'm in a red state, but that's exactly why I voted early also. Not trusting local corrupt officials to invent some new COVID bullshit

1
SoldierofKek 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also what does the yard sign situation look like by you?

1
SLP123 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lots of Biden yard signs in the Northwest suburbs of IL and just a few brave Trump signs because they're immediately stolen or vandalized. Homes with Trump signs have their cars keyed, their windows broken and their homes egged. What people do instead is post signs of local Republican politicians running and hope that sends the message. My Trump sign was stolen immediately.

1
SoldierofKek 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's a damn shame really. Are you in Aurora by chance? I am pretty sure the 11th Congressional district. That district is so misshapen, it's an example of why gerrymandering should be illegal. Anyway, Rick Laib is a major underdog against Bill Foster, it's a shame too, but I still voted for him, because I don't vote democrap. I know the Laib family, they're good people. My friend Jerry tells me there's Laib signs all over in Joliet, where he's from. I haven't been in my old neighborhood. If he doesn't win, it won't be the end of the world, because that district is way slanted, but it would be nice to have a geniune conservative and get us one seat closer to firing nancy pelosi. For me, I was just happy Foster defeated his primary challenger, this SJW cunt Rachel Ventura. Just look her up on Ballotpedia..I wish there were an option on the ballot to give her a helicopter ride. Everything about her I hate. She's on the will county board....Her CV talks about Muh diversity, and equity, you know anti-white, critical race theory commie shit. She thinks the green new deal is the best idea ever....oh yeah, and she claims, without evidence (no police report etc) that she left her BF or whoever the fucking baby daddy is because of an "abusive relationship", she actually put that on her fucking public service profile. She should be sued for libel. I hate this bitch, can't you tell? It's like having my very own taco burrito loco del torro occasional cortex. People like that need to be banned from running for office.

1
SoldierofKek 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd electrify the sign. Did you see that guy do that? Or better yet, put a CC cam on it and when some fucking fat lesbian bitch comes out to steal it, come out with a pistol and yell FREEZE! Watch the pitch shit herself. That actually happened to this stupid kid in my neighborhood. He was shooting his bb gun, shot a cop's window and the cop came out and yelled FREEZE. The kid literally shat himself. And when I say literally, I don't mean it like the faggot millenials mean it. I mean it there was poop in his underwear and his mommy had to wash his undies.

6
BubblesPink 6 points ago +6 / -0 (edited)

Oh for sure, hell I live in Florida in a republican controlled city and even I'm afraid that my vote wouldn't count if I voted early. But if I lived in a leftist state I definitely wouldn't vote early for any reason.

We had a similar problem in 2018 in the Miami area, they kept "finding" ballots to try and make up the ground between DeSantis and Gillum. Thankfully we had Marco Rubio sounding the alarm and Rick Scott as Governor so they put a stop to it, otherwise we would've had a much different outcome. All it takes is one corrupt county to make a difference.

4
trumptrain11 4 points ago +4 / -0

Gillum. Hasn't showed his face since he was face down naked in his own vomit.

1
buckiemohawk 1 point ago +1 / -0

I can tell you a lot about that race and DNC has so much egg on their face for running that guy when they knew he had issues.

2
Brave1884 2 points ago +3 / -1

You realize by telling republicans to wait we’re essentially throwing away at the very least 30% of our votes? Nearly half of potential voters don’t make it to vote on Election Day. A minor storm/event in any key area could ruin the election since Dems have mostly voted.

4
SoldierofKek 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don't see it that way. Democrats are more likely not to show because it's cold not republicans. In a blue state I absolutely would wait until election day.

3
ReignOfTyphon 3 points ago +3 / -0

Voting too early gives a polling map for local Dem election officials to gauge both their legitimate and fraudulent get-out-to-vote drives.I would stand in a hurricane for 12 hours to vote for this president, I doubt any left-wing insurgent commie would say that about Joe Biden!

Two years ago Cat 5 Hurricane Michael hit the panhandle of Florida and Georgia, in mostly republican strongholds, 2-3 weeks before the election and the turnout was still record high to win the gubernatorial elections in both states. I believe they had an extension on in-person voting in the hardest hit counties.

No people shouldn't be able to change their vote after the fact, I 100% agree with that. But this search spiked after the last debate, so people obviously regretted their votes, which is why voting should not take place until after all the debates are completed and all the information is out. People shouldn't be able to vote weeks before the election, before campaigning is is done. It's like taking a test halfway through the semester and then wanting to go back and retake part of it because you learned new information.

is there a trend or search term to look for that shows people want to change their vote to trump?

I like this graph, and it mostly went up due to Biden saying he'd end the oil industry at which point anyone in Texas, pa ohio, decided to instantly go trump. but you know how the TDS people are... they'll argue this trend is people who want to swap to Biden. so I want concrete undeniable proof when I pull this up.

47
Click 47 points ago +48 / -1

That last debate fucked Biden hard. His drugs wore off and he became a confused, angry, gaffe-machine who unmasked himself like an idiot. Even the moderator was like "why would you do that?" when Biden said he wanted to put an end to the oil industry.

27
logan34 27 points ago +27 / -0

On the side of Biden are: the FBI, the CIA, the federal bureaucracy, academia, Facebook, Twitter, Google, Hollywood, the majority of corporate donors, the majority of wall street, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, NPR, the NYT, every magazine on the shelf, BLM, Antifa, 50 million illegal aliens, the "never-Trump" Republicans, and the Chinese Communist Party.

On the Trump side: Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, /r/conspiracy cranks, 4chan.... running out of names here, little help?

It's literally David versus Goliath.

Yet look at videos from any Biden or Harris "event." Six or seven dull looking people standing around - there is ZERO organic support for him. It's all rigged polls and astroturfing because the average person doesn't fit into ANY of those above Biden groups.

Yeah, everything they want will fuck my farm in North Dakota. Forget about cars for a second....an electric harvester is not fucking practical. What about the hydraulics that run all our machines to feed the world? Lifting and moving industry relies on hydraulic oil.

2
ShalomRPh 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s actually possible to make hydraulic fluid without petroleum; DOT-3 brake fluid, for example, is mostly alcohol based, and DOT-5 is silicone. Not sure how the cost of production, plus modifications to existing machinery, compares to conventional fluids.

The rest of your comment I agree with. How many furrows could you possibly plow with an electric tractor? Unless you string your fields with overhead catenary... not gonna happen.

Could be super, super anecdotal -- and perhaps too much information to share online -- but Fargo has Microsoft's second biggest campus in the US. When I worked there, I'd say half the campus was from out of state (including myself): people from Texas, Seattle, Boston, New York, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these more "liberal" transplants who now live in Fargo are waking up a bit now that they're out of their bubbles. I certainly did, and lots of others did, too. This is why the founding fathers were right. They didn’t think the average person was capable of making such an important thing like. Which is why we are a constitutional republic with the electoral college.

The trend search, for those curious: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=can%20i%20change%20my%20vote

The real interesting one is if you narrow the query window to the last 7 days: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=now%207-d&geo=US&q=can%20i%20change%20my%20vote

PA and AZ, battleground states, are in the top 5 with MN and WI trailing in the top 10

4
DatRndmDude 4 points ago +4 / -0

You have to limit search range until 1-2 days ago, because today's results are being biased by this post, people are searching for these trends as you can see on the webpage in bottom right.

Here, the range from the first debate until yesterday:

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=2020-09-29%202020-10-26&geo=US&q=can%20i%20change%20my%20vote

Trending in ND because of a RINO, Gates cock-sucking governor that couldn't hold Kristi Noem's jockstrap. Burgum is a fucking joke.

3

This is so fucked up. Why can’t we vote on the 1st Tuesday after the first Monday in November like we have been doing for years?

2
Dueler312 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's exactly my point I been making. Lets vote on election day and no other day on that. Unless you are not in the place where you can vote.

1
SHALL_NOT 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because the Branch Covidians were afraid of lines

Because the party of feels thought that if the election was underway it would stop orange man from appointing ACB

Because fraudsters wanted accurate landslide information so they could reliably fudge the election but keep it believable

Because this whole unsolicited ballot shit show lays the foundation for a color revolution

Because the dimms know that trump knows how corrupt they are and wanted to lock in the TDS vote before a ground shaking October surprise like “China has bought or blackmailed career politicians around the world”

Because, in the chaos of a brand-new completely unplanned voting process, they know they can maximize all the tools in their fraud kit to make up as many fake votes as they need. No more “finding” votes after Election Day, just trickle them in with the real ones.

Looks like Trump might do better in the popular vote than expected too. I think Trump's unwavering consistency on important issues is making the biggest difference. Pro law & order, supports energy independence, defends lower taxes, openly supports returning the country back to normal amid a "pandemic", openly and aggressively defends the US against Chinese threats, and the people are increasingly aware that media attacks against him are fake garbage. Some were worried about the whole Russian collusion bullshit, but everybody has watched as the entire thing was exposed for what it really is --- a cunt named Hillary Clinton created it and Obama-Biden helped keep it going as the media took over. Joe's radical left agenda was exposed for what it really is. The laptop pushed it over the edge.

2
the_kovic 2 points ago +2 / -0

I said it before, I'll say it again. If anyone reading this is one of those regret voters, you try your luck and vote a second time somehow. Either the system works and your two votes will be invalidated after they are found, or the system doesn't work and your two votes will cancel each other out. Both ways are win-win for America.

2
TNpedefosho 2 points ago +2 / -0

Here’s a list of how to change your vote I found on twitter https://threader.app/thread/1320522720614858752

I have New Hampshire as my dark horse! Trump takes the EC 283 to 255. Book it. I know it is less than last time, but we all know it is a challenge with the MSM attempting to overthrow him for the last 4 years.

2
Fieldbricks33 2 points ago +2 / -0

Anyone else worried that changing votes is another possible way for voter fraud? Whats the process to change it. They have to find your vote in a pile of millions of votes? How do they find your ballot? Does it have your name on the outside? If so, that should be a red flag already. If not, then what are they going to do, open every vote to look for yours? What prevents someone else from changing your vote after the fact?

1
SHALL_NOT 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was just thinking this. Even if they can find the vote, what is to keep them from fraudulently changing votes? There is no way to check and see how your particular vote was counted.

1
Fieldbricks33 1 point ago +1 / -0

100%. One of the greatest parts about voting in the USA is how each vote is anonymous. Obviously mail in voting is different, but what stops both votes from being counted or then being able to say that person X votes this way.

If its absentee, you have your name signed to it, and there would be 2 votes...what stops them from just tossing both saying, "this person voted twice, we need to throw out both" it just seems like an incredibly tricky situation to handle properly. And based on the O'keefe videos I've seen, I don't trust the process, whatever they come up with.

2
Redghnbfrt 2 points ago +2 / -0

We should have debates starting right after the convention imo.

2
Lehh 2 points ago +2 / -0

I can only imagine how completely stupid those early Biden voters in PA feel about casting a ballot that might put them out of of a well paying job in the energy industry. Sleepy Joe looked right into that camera and urged them to vote early, then pulled the rug out from under them when he doubled down on fracking.

2
chickensoup 2 points ago +2 / -0

One may not be able to CHANGE THE VOTE but one can WITHDRAW THE VOTE.

AND THAT IS A KIND OF VOTE TOO.

What are the units used to measure this?

1
blumpkinblake 1 point ago +1 / -0

All these polls about democrats doing lots of early mail in voting have become void. So people saw democrats up in some areas but now they'll switch their vote but the old polls will still be referenced. Excellent!

1
ThisIsMyNewReddit 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hate to be the one to say this but this happens every election. Just go out to the all time chart and these peaks for this search term happen every election cycle. This one doesn’t look out of the ordinary.

1
Deathlessly 1 point ago +1 / -0

What if you got so pissed with what you discovered as a Democrat that you intentionally invalidate your vote just to take back one point from the count.

1
lixa 1 point ago +1 / -0

They ought to just inform everyone that they should show up to the polls, that no early or mail in voting will be counted. See who is serious.

But strangely enough, Aunt Jemima - for whom the slogan "selling like hotcakes" was literally invented, to describe how popular she was at in person cooking events at fairs and such - has been cancelled.

1
DietCoke 1 point ago +1 / -0 (edited)

You have to read this correctly though. Of course more people will look for this term than when there is no election coming up. Doesn't mean that much. Edit: but could still mean something why exactly those states are at the top.

1
PossumFlavored 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wonder if the 4 grey states are because of lack of interest or because of too few people in the states.

North Dakota

Lemme guess, Minot, right?

1
WaynePayne98 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why can't trump just write an executive order and say mail in ballots are moot and everyone has a weeks notice to vote in person?

This election is being stolen before our eyes. Biden literally came out and admitted to building the biggest voter fraud organization in history, what more do we need?

1
Dueler312 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think even the president has that power there.
