A well regulated recreation, necessary to the hobby of sport shooting, the right of the people to keep and compete with sporting firearms that are in common use shall not be infringed unless a barrel is under 16 inches or a brace is kinda like a stock.
The NRA Legal Dept should go after this 'sporting purposes' clause.... it would open up the gun market significantly. And it would even help make the ATF more lawful!!
It’s a traditional AR, just with a shorter barrel. It has more restrictions on it... can’t have regular rifle stock or traditional fire grip otherwise you need to pay the tax stamp on it because it transforms into a “short barreled rifle” which has more regulation on it

Rifles in 9mm/45 are a nice loop-hole.
Carbine refers to any shorter barreled rifle. Carbines in 9/45 (and others) are called pistol chambered carbines.
That won’t stop anything they look at the other features so even a large frame pistol in pistol caliber could be an AOW according to atf
