But some cuckservative never Trumper funded by the Kochs told me right wing only means small government!

Seriously I have encountered more than one idiot who tried to argue that anarchists are right wing

Some people are so small minded they can't figure out that a single axis model of politics has limited use and reality is a bit more complicated than a line.

Yup, that's why things like the Nolan Chart and the Political Compass exist

Perhaps I'm just insufferably pedantic but it grates me when people (including professional political pundits) say things like "Sanders is more liberal than Biden."

Socialists are farther left than liberals but that makes them LESS liberal. Free market capitalism is the cornerstone of liberal economics. But in contemporary America a lot of people just use liberal as synonym for whatever the Democrats happen to be up to at the moment.

I think that's less an issue with the left/right spectrum and more that the term liberal has been coopted from its roots in the French libre and redefined as full blown communism.

It goes back even further than that, fren. A lot further.

The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. ~ Ecclesiastes 10:2
