I would just like to take a moment to point out that I couldn't find a single Western nation where abortion protections were enshrined in their constitution.
In every case I could find, abortion protections / restrictions were all created by legislation.
So the left is crying about democracy, and democracy is precisely what they are potentially getting: states deciding, democratically, what protections and restrictions the put on abortion.
This all assumes that Roe V Wade is overturned, which is still a bit of a long-shot, IMO.
Also, most of Europe has far more restrictive abortion laws than the USA. (late-term abortions are almost always banned in many European countries for example)

To be fair (not that I want to be fair since this is what should happen), in order to overturn Roe, the Supreme Court would necessarily have to find a 14th amendment right to life for the baby. That would make all state laws that allow abortions a constitutional violation. There would be no states deciding on this issue anymore.
That's what happens when a court goes full activists instead of staying in their lane. They invented the principle of "political questions" for just this kind of situation but the Roe court couldn't help themselves.
Overturning roe would just send the issue to the states. Roe determined that abortion laws violated a right to privacy, you could overturn without recognizing the personhood of the unborn. I honestly don't think the conservatives would go this route.
Roe has no shot of being overturned until Breyer is gone and replaced with an originalist. I don't think anyone other than Thomas and Barrett would vote for it currently.
