If FDR can then so can Trump.

The Left wants to destroy our country more than the axis powers ever did.

FDR also confirmed 9 supreme court justices but nobody on the Left seems to take issue with that...

Trump almost completed the tar and feathering of Obama's reputation. I doubt it will fly now that the majority has tasted true patriotism.

That's fine. I hope they waste another election cycle trying to run him.

As much heartburn as I have over who replaces Trump when his time in office is done, I'm not sure I want the highest office in the land becoming perpetually corruptible, or to paraphrase Jefferson, degenerating into an inheritance. That said, I don't know that two terms is the number because it's largely arbitrary.

I'd much prefer an enforceable conflict of interest doctrine that makes it impossible for any elected official to enrich themselves while in office.

That already exists in the form of federal laws, enforced through impeachment. The problem is that so many in congress are corrupt themselves, they would only take that route with a guy like Trump who isn't involved in corruption they themselves could be connected to.

I'm for term limits all around. It does reduce the amount of corruption. I think a combined 12 years is a good cap for federal elected service. That would include any combination of representative, senator, and presidential terms.

So many of our problems in federal government is that a lot of the elected officials have never done much of anything but be a politician. America has not been sending our best.

Honestly I say we should have him as president even a while after he dies. Advancements in technology could replicate his decision making, sort of like a Trump AI. I say we have this be president after his death until someone else proves worthy.

No. Hereโ€™s the issue: he's 74, he wonโ€™t be this healthy and energetic forever. We canโ€™t have a president whoโ€™s too sick to do anything or worse, not all there mentally. And then when Democrats inevitably get re-elected theyโ€™ll do so with a super young person whoโ€™ll rule for 30-50 years.

I love Trump as much as the next guy, but the 12th-A and 22nd-A are there for a reason.

Imagine if a 35-y/o AOC got elected into the oval office...

Nothing a red tsunami landslide victory couldn't solve with a simple constitutional amendment.

I hope everyone realizes that the two laughing emojis meant it was in jest. FDR alone shows us that we don't need a king or a dictator, no matter how benevolent.

It was only a snarky headline for the absurd Lincoln Project video.

He wouldn't abuse it, but someone else down the road would.

The original Virginia plan, which was the foundation of the constitution, proposed having the president elected for life, just like the supreme court justices. The Founding Fathers were worried that switching between presidents would destabilize our foreign relations and provide incentive for foreigners to interfere in our presidential elections.

I think they were right.

Presidents should be for life.

And the people should not have a say in who is president. State legislatures should choose.

Just like we chose Trump in 2016 -- by ELECTORAL COLLEGE, not by popular vote!

I think after he wins a 2nd term he has earned his right to retire in luxury and comfort knowing he saved this country for decades. I say we keep electing MAGA to the Presidency: Gaetz, DeSantis, Noem, Jr. etc.
