Morality in the country has been on a downward slope for decades. This is probably the result of the weakness and spinelessness of the Church and its leadership. In our process of reaching mass appeal, we've watered down the message to make it more palpable for the masses. This has had the result in that the Church no longer really stands for anything other than "pro-life"... and even then, we still find Christians who willingly sell that out as well...
The idea that a Christian should not vote for Trump (or being critical of those that do) because of his moral issues is just more proof of that overall weakness. Trump should not be your moral weather vane.. He most certainly is not perfect and as a result of his "playboy and public lifestyle" all of his faults are out there for us to judge (i think the Bible says something about that as well).
I do wonder that if we knew of all the moral faults of past presidents, if we would be so nostalgic for the past "good Christian" presidents... perhaps the past was a facade to fool evangelicals into voting for people who never really cared for you.
