Many of these northeastern states were also part of the 13 colonies. Imagine how the founding fathers would feel about these tyrannical laws. Sad!

15
Cantpickaname 15 points ago +15 / -0

They went from tea parties in the Boston harbor to getting teabagged by corrupt leftist tyrants.

Yeah, it really breaks my heart to see what it's turned into

They worshipped the false idol of the Kennedy name, back when TV and print were basically fully controlled under the liberal elite, look how it got them into a soft padded cell. Even now there is probably a big contingent of people that only knows to vote (D) with a picture of JFK on the wall.

3

If you look at a county-by-county map of MA they all voted for Hillary. I used to live in Western MA and once you looked at town by town results you saw why. Hampden country has Springfield, Westfield (home to a state university) and thena bunch of small rural towns that voted Trump. Same for Hampshire one county north, you have Northampton and Amherst that can decide the county.

8
Det_Richard_Nipples 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yup I live in Franklin county. In the only town in the whole county to vote trump. It’s amazing how we were treated after the fact too. Liberals organized literal bus trips up to the town to meet and talk with the locals and “open a dialogue” on why we voted for trump. I’m not even kidding it was retarded.

4
thisisatestof2 4 points ago +4 / -0

So idiots, probably form UMass or similar, organized a bus trip to talk to people who voted differently then them? Idiots.

4
Det_Richard_Nipples 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yea most likely Umass profs and liberal hippies on their pot farms in Leverett and Shelburne “artists”.

2
Polygauge 2 points ago +2 / -0

UMass, Harvard, And a lot community colleges like Framingham State, Fitchburg State, Quinsigamond (I'm not gonna to spell it correctly)

5
IcedCovfefe 5 points ago +5 / -0

FYI, Westfield voted for Trump. It is the largest city/town in MA that Trump won.

3
AIRHORN4TRUMP 3 points ago +3 / -0

Im next door and have seen more and more neighbors put up trump flags.

2
thisisatestof2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Never knew that.

1
Polygauge 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, same, I didn't either

6
IronMaiden 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yup, from Southeast mass, can confirm. Once you leave the cities it's MAGA country for the most part.

4
registered_dem4TRUMP 4 points ago +4 / -0

Same but I don't think thats true. I only see MAGA in NH and Maine.

4
Oskar 4 points ago +4 / -0

Can confirm from SE Massholia. Way more Trump flags than 2016, and way, way less Biden signs than there were for Her.

2
registered_dem4TRUMP 2 points ago +2 / -0

Fair, now that I think about it, I saw that huge car parade on 3 north a few weeks ago when I was going down to the cape.

2
Oskar 2 points ago +2 / -0

You gotta understand though, people here are legitimately crazy. It's way safer just to keep your political opinion to yourself.

2
Polygauge 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean I technically live outside of Worcester, but was in Melrose up until 2013

2
Rock_Flag_Eagle 2 points ago +2 / -0

Don't forget Springfield!

1
Polygauge 1 point ago +1 / -0

Uh I don't, I'm moving to NH XD

43
kekkk 43 points ago +43 / -0

Its so weird that the place where the Boston Tea Party happened, now is the State with some of, if not the highest taxes in the Country.

People still live there, though, its amazing. The biggest thing the Blue States have over the Red States are that the Public Schools in CT and MA are genuinely very good. That always seems to be the main justification.

15
Ben45 15 points ago +16 / -1

They're starting to kill that justification though. Public teachers when I was graduating were starting to get kinda SJW-like. I imagine it is only getting worse, and facilitating a toxic atmosphere, because it only takes a handful/one department of teachers to screw a school up and make it a bad place to learn.

NJ, I'm almost 99% sure, is consistently #1 for public education in the nation. Won't stay that way if lefty bs gets pushed in the English classes, and especially won't last if that 1619 project is put into place.

3
corneredbeast 3 points ago +3 / -0

And who rates them? Lefties? Yup.

2
Polygauge 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, the schools haven't been good in decades. I'm 25 and had to move several school districts because the staff would side with the kids that would threaten and start fights with me. Because it was easier for them.

Oh well, they eat their own, I guess

4

And family. Many people still have lots of family, sometimes 3 generations, in the area and don't want to leave for that reason.

5
Gloria_InExcelsisKek 5 points ago +5 / -0

This. The only reason I am still here is because I just can't move away and separate my daughter from her grandparents that love her so much.

3
Polygauge 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fuck that, I'm outta this dying state.

3
Oskar 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's the only reason I'm still in Mass.

3
Rock_Flag_Eagle 3 points ago +3 / -0

They are good, in relative terms. And that depends heavily on what county you're in. I lived in Andover for high school and did get a good education there. But even in such a wealthy county, they almost had to cut sports because of budgetary issues and there were virtually no trade classes. Can't imagine what it's like in crappier towns like Lawrence.

3
Oskar 3 points ago +3 / -0

No trade classes is on purpose. Don't need to depend on the government as much if you have an actual skill.

2
Oskar 2 points ago +2 / -0

Public schools were good in MA, but under Deval Patrick and 0bama we chose to lower our academic standards to suckle at the federal tit and adopt Common Core.

28

Keep in mind that The Boston Herald is a conservative paper, they run Howie Carr articles. Still surprising to see a major publication from Boston openly endorse Trump but it is a conservative paper, would be way more shocking if it was the ultra leftist Boston Globe.

3
Bonami 3 points ago +3 / -0

I get the Globe online, it is insane what they write about covid, Trump, Biden, it is a glimpse into a completely different reality.

2
mugwump 2 points ago +2 / -0

23
BurnTheSplinters 23 points ago +24 / -1

MA Pede, reporting in!

2016, not a single MA county was for Trump, but a couple were damn close.

2020 gonna be a whole new ball game.

LANDSLIDE INCOMING

8
4moreyears [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

I cast my vote for Trump in hopefully-soon-to-be-great-again state of MA!

4
Polygauge 4 points ago +4 / -0

We just get Baker and Walsh to fuck off

4
Pedeberrycrunch 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's funny - Dukes County had a wide disparity of 72.9% Clinton to 21.6% Trump, so it seems really crazy. Then you look at the numbers: 8,838 to 2,474. Most counties were closer in percentage but about 20K votes away.

Point being, if only a few thousand more people show up than did in 2016, we could completely change the face of the electoral map in a few days.

EVERYTHING IS IN PLAY.

4
MAGAmillionairess 4 points ago +4 / -0

There's actually Trump displays on MV here and there! I was surprised to see it, but year-rounders are a different breed than summer libs.

3

2

3

not a chance in hell massachusetts is as blue as we are led to believe. i’ll go as far to say massachusetts is a test lab for election rigging because no one dare question the results here.

3

There is one questioning; Dr Shiva has questioned the Dem primary and has tried to get a recount but they won't give him access to the ballots, which is illegal. He is suing but also is a write in candidate.

I’ve no idea about the herald. Are they like the NY Post? (Meaning they actually report news)

44
NOTWOKE 44 points ago +44 / -0

RINO paper but it’s the best we have.

29
Imransgarage 29 points ago +29 / -0

The Herald is to the Boston globe what the post is to the NYT.

18
Bogey 18 points ago +18 / -0

Boston has the Herald and the Globe. The Globe is at WaPo level of dem delusion. The Herald is the mainstream alternative like the Washington Times.

At least that's how I understand it.

43
Tremend0us 43 points ago +43 / -0

Not a surprise. The Herald is the traditionally conservative newspaper of the working class, while the Globe is owned by the New York Times and caters to liberal pieces of shit.

5
BurnerAcct42069 5 points ago +5 / -0

NYT sold it to John Henry recently. Not that that makes a difference

4
Bonami 4 points ago +4 / -0

The Herald and the now defunct Record American merged a while ago. There was a joke Record American headline; it gives you an idea of what it was like: "Japs Bomb Pearl Harbor, Somerville Man Safe." My grandmother used to cut stories out of it of children who had gone missing, been killed and make me read them from the time I was four or five, scared me half to death. Which was her plan :)

1
Staatssicherheit 1 point ago +1 / -0

Herald didn't endorse Trump (or Clinton) in 2016. They are the Ben Shapiro-like semi-Never Trump group. That's significant.

Feeling good about NH and at least part of ME though

2

Working people here have had enough of the restrictions and the hoops and the masks and all the other fucking nonsense making our lives harder. Social distancing streets that you can't drive down, can't get your own coffee at the gas station. Fuck off with that!

People who would have never voted before because "in Massachusetts it doesn't matter" are going out to vote just to stick a thumb in their eye.

Add this enthusiasm from a generally non-voting bloc to the fact that there is only a fraction of the usual student population here now.

No surprise herald went for trump - They are a conservative light paper.

On the southcoast of mass:

Fairhaven usually goes red but hillary edged it blue in 2016. Westport, acushnet, rochester, carver, Pembroke, etc....rural right to farm areas have trump and pro life signs everywhere but the populations aren't very big.
