I just had a long conversation with my mom. She’s a lifelong Democrat who said this morning that she is voting for Donald and Republicans down ballot. She still supports our liberal senators, but I don’t think either of them are up for election this year.
I had trouble believing many of the posts saying this same thing over the last few months but holy shit, if my mother is voting Trump, and she loves Hillary, shit is getting crazy.

I think you're misunderstanding the comment. Moron young voters would have blindly voted for those candidates, which would have helped the dnc/ds. Instead, they chose the one candidate that even moron youngsters can't swallow, so they screwed themselves.
That would make a ton of sense. We don't seem to get the Bernouts in denial here anymore, but back during the primaries when the Dems were busy sabotaging Bernie(again) and Yang, we'd get the influx of disenfranchised Dems who still believed in communism but wanted on the Trump train because they were pissed at the DNC. That experience kinda makes me reflexively want to reach out and slap anybody defending their ilk.

That's a great start, but don't think those dem senators are honorable people. Not a single Dem voted for Barrett. She's as qualified as a justice that we've had, and she's a woman. AND, Trump made an excellent point, she's the first justice to be on the bench while having school aged children. Amy is literally like millions of 40 year old mom's across the country. That was fucking huge for conservatives and moderates. They act like she's going to outlaw sex and immigrants and make women go back into the kitchen.
Hopefully, you can get your mother to research the candidates more thoroughly. It's tough, I know, especially in the fake news and internet age. We often ask how a person could be so brainwashed to believe cnn. But if you only watch cnn an hour a week, browse reddit and Facebook, you wouldn't even know people in indiana or Kansas exist. We went to Nyc in 2008 for a graduation trip. We had a few people ask us if we were still fighting Indians in Kansas, shit you not. Point is, it's very easy for the media to manipulate people. Especially those who live in big cities. I'd love for your average big city citizen to go live in a rural area for two weeks. I'm not saying a town of 50,000. I'm talking a town of 800. See how they think and what their morals are. Gonna be way different than Harlem.
