I see many posts on reddit about people just scraping by, but I don't understand how. The only thing I can think of is the school system has messed them up in the head and has blocked even the thought of having a trade job, because where I'm from you can live off just an entry level trade job. When I went to school, little over 10 years back, I had some teachers make fun of me for saying I was going to run equipment. "You need to go to university to get a good job" they said. Well both my brother and sister went to university, he went to be a teacher, cause those who can't do teach, never got a job as a teacher cause everybody wanted that job, he has since joined the military where he can actually make a pay cheque. My sister 7 years in psychology and is now doing a placement, not really making ends meet, and her playing around in people's brains scares me a bit cause she's Marxist as hell. I started an apprenticeship as a mobile crane operator, getting chunky cheques from day one plus a decent amount of respect for what I do. Point being is they've been told that dirty or manual jobs are below them. Only idiots work in trades which is where they try to push the dum dums which is stupid cause I don't want them dum dums on my site. Post secondary seems to be little more than degree factories. Keeping big education alive while pushing a communist agenda.
Mostly because saving money does not supply instant gratification...
