And yes, I have been in treatment longer than most. The doctors have discussed that with me in length, and that is why I’m being moved to Rehab so they can work more closely with me. They have told me that some patients experience much longer recovery times.

what sort of pulmonary functions tests have you had while in hospital?
what are your comorbidities?
I'm asking because you've been in treatment for sometime. Much longer than most.
That leads me to think your age is >70 and you have a compromised system from some other ailment(s)
Just like any flu, if you are weak to start, it will wreak havoc on your body.
