So I know this is a new account, and based on what I've read about you guys, new accounts are sus around here. But heres the thing.
I'm a bisexual crossdresser, and for awhile I was told that the democrat party was the one I had to be a part of because that was just to be expected. In 2016, I didn't vote for Trump or Clinton, but I wanted third party, because I couldn't stand Hillary because despite leaning left, I hated her for Benghazi, since my big brother is a marine, and my dad was a Soldier.
Well, when Trump was elected, I'll be honest I was kind of scared, because I figured I was going to be in danger because everyone told me I should be scared because he was going to take away my rights.
But he never did. In fact I found out from browsing this sub he was one of the few who came into office supporting gay marriage. Which I was like 'Why would he do that if he hated gays?'
Then my taxes went down, which I'll admit I enjoyed that a lot because I got to buy more stuff and it was easier for me to pay my bills because I got to keep more of my money right away.
I was enjoying the results of his presidency, I was making more money, he wasn't trying to get rid of gay marriage, so that was good.
But one of my friends freaked out because I wasn't pissed off. And they told me 'You're trans! How can you be okay with this.;
The problem is I'm not trans, I may be a crossdresser, but I'm not trans. And then they started screaming at me for that. Telling me I had internalized transphobia and calling me every single slur in the book.
This again made me question what I had been told about Trump. So the more I started to research, I learned that I actually really agree with a lot of his policies.
Lower taxes for middle class? Obviously.
America first? Yes, because I hate the fact we're playing police for most of the world when they should take care of their own shit.
Military buildup? Well yeah because what idiot cuts military funding?
And the issue I agree with him on most is support for police officers.
I grew up in a small town, and never had a problem with police, in fact my ex boyfriend was a cop, and he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew, so I know there are bad cops out there, but I also acknowledge that its the minority that are bad cops.
When this whole George Floyd blm bullshit started happening and I saw all the destruction they were causing, I couldn't see the point, especially when the BLM rioters refused to let police and firefighters put that house fire out that resulted in the death of that one kid.
Or that one black guy who killed that one white kid because he was angry about George Floyd, I couldn't in good conscience support BLM because its a movement of hate.
So I can't believe I'm syaing this, but I actually got early voting in, and I voted for Trump.
I never expected I would back in 2016. But hes the clear choice.
Sorry if this writing seems a bit weird and all over the place, but I didn't know how to really describe it
EDIT: Wow holy shit, you guys are really supportive! Thank you!
Come on in, Fellow Patriot, the water is fine..
