I didn't leave the democratic party, I left the libertarian party.

I still agree with Libertarians on a lot of shit like weed legalization, troops home from the middle east, abolish the patriot act, and I agree with their 'legalize everything" mindset

Switzerland is the most Libertarian country on earth, and it has some of the best healthcare/education on earth, lots of happiness, a low crime rate, etc so I thought the more Libertarians we elect the closer the US is to becoming a giant Switzerland.

The truth is red states are just as great as places to live as Switzerland, and the US overall doesn't have a super high rank in healthcare, education, and low levels of poverty is because of blue states.

For starters, Libertarians claim to be anti-censorship, anti-government spying, anti-government lying to citizens, etc. But, when a private company does the same shit they shake it off.

The big corps and the media want to make fake news, lie, censor, and ban for the wrong thing, and Libertarians are COMPLETLY fine with it because at least the government didn't do it, amirite?!

Jokes aside, if the LP becomes popular enough to no longer be a third party then we're pretty fucked. The internet will continue to censor and the media will keep lying.

For the most party, Libertarians and Reps are basically the same, both support gun rights, both want small gov/low taxes, economic freedom, etc

Libertarians claim conservatives support marriage only when it's between a man and a woman, but those are Paleo-Conservatives not all conservatives believe that.

My story of how I switched from libertarian to republican isn't interesting, I didn't get red-pilled or some shit like that, I like Trump and I always had even when I was a Libertarian. Plus I've always been interested in right-wing populism and Donald Trump is a RightPop.

Ideally, I think the democrats need to become marginalized enough to be at a green party level status and the two parties would be between Conservative and Libertarian. I also don't see anything wrong in a two party system necessarily - seems a lot of libertarians have this complaint. It's actually optimal. It suggests that at least one party is right. Or rather, it gives us a higher probability of being on the right course. Of course, what's going on with democrats is akin to pulling a fast one. Hopefully, they go down in big scary flames.

I left the Libertarian Party back in 2015 (about the same time that Donald Trump came down the escalator!) when Nick Sarwark put out a press release celebrating the Obergefell decision - a clear violation of the Libertarian Pledge.

If that decision isn't using force to achieve a social or political goal, I don't know what would be.

Libertarian is basically anarchy.

I would say Libertarian belongs on the extreme right tho.. we overlap, we just want bits that keep society functioning lol.

You're right. The further left you go, the larger government gets. The further right, the smaller it gets. This image has its issues but it's pretty accurate. I've referred people to it before: http://www.infographicsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/left-versus-right-infographic.gif

Libertarian is missing, but I think it belongs on the right.
