I have come to view her more as a prophet than a philosopher recently as her novels are turning into today's headlines. Of course, she had already seen in Russia the effects of socialism before she came to the US. History may not repeat itself but it does rhyme.

A true feminist and economist. While other economists simply wrote papers, she wrote novels that explained the power of free markets so that anyone could comprehend.

Atlas Shrugged and 1984 are the only two novels I've read at least every five years for the past 30.

Edit - When she uses the word "men", she's not putting males above females. It's the way people wrote about "people" back then.
