I remember people always telling me how great of an orator Obama was. But the second he stops reading from his teleprompter he turns into a stammering retard.
Trump, on the other hand, does fantastic when he's winging it.
Obama was what "smart" was supposed to sound like, so by affirming that he was a great speaker, people were virtue signaling that they must be intelligent themselves. Didn't matter that it was 100% non-sense drivel delivered with the most dry and mind-numbing oration possible.
Trump, on the other hand, is truly great. He's enjoyable, funny, and wins hearts and minds while creating spontaneous, quotable, and iconic moments.
It's the difference between a very good charlatan and the real deal.
