Right, the social media and looting I get (not that I agree), but the people who were right there watching it all go down I can't understand. Like, they see this guy chasing two cops, who have guns drawn, with a knife. Should it not be clearly obvious to them how this is going to end?
Long-term timeline I'd say it might be for personal gain or denial of the underlying issues. Short-term like in the video I'd say people are just speaking from shock and surprise so they might say anything. Also the "why did you shoot him so many times" comment, people just don't know the training and reasons behind it that a cop shoots until the threat is eliminated if they have to shoot.
