And for those who were edumacated back in the Cold War era when Chiang Kai-Shek was supposedly "our guy":

Supporters of the ruling pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party backed Trump by an 80% to 20% margin, but supporters of the main opposition Kuomintang, which is more conciliatory toward China, opposed Trump by a 70%-19% margin.

The KMT was CKS's "party". Nowadays they suck up to China and want to "reunify" because they're stupid enough to think that China will reward them by making them the sole approved uniparty to govern a Taipei S.A.R. They held a Biden rally outside the CKS Memorial Hall last Saturday.

Or at least replace Hawaii with Hong Kong! Based Pepes on the streets there are sad at what is going on.

We can swap Hawaii to Japan, which is the country that controlled Taiwan at the end of WW2 anyway.

That way we have an unsinkable aircraft carrier right next to China again. :-)

Japan controlled Taiwan up until the end of WWII. After that, CKS fled to Taiwan after the Deep State Department betrayed his allegiance to the US. Vinegar Joe Stilwell had a feud with CKS and caused him to lose face numerous times before he was relieved as commander of the China Burma India Theatre. The US stabbed CKS in the back and practically handed China to Mao and his commie buttholes.

How is Trump doing in Greenland?

11
christosgnosis 11 points ago +11 / -0

it would be a hoot if POTUS went to Greenland to do a rally - Denmark would be so pissed

(but more importantly, communist China would be so pissed)

Didn't we buy that place yet?

Weird...you would think those 32% could easily walk into China and be accepted with open arms. Seems like that's where they would prefer to live.

5
PropagandaWizard1984 5 points ago +5 / -0

That 32% are CCP spies Fren.

A lot of them do. One of Taiwan's biggest problems has been the drain of businesses over to cheap-labor China, all of which has been supported by the KMT. Just like Republican farm owners support illegal immigration for cheap labor, the KMT has been the party of let's move the factory to China and get rich.

Taiwan shut off air travel to/from China in January because of the coronavirus. There were months of disputes over returning Taiwanese businessmen to Taiwan. They moved their factories and their lives over to the mainland, then when things turned sour they ran like dogs. And the entire time, the KMT -- which is basically all of those guys -- kept sabotaging the repatriation flights and trying to drag their non-Taiwanese wives and kids over to where it was safe, putting infected people on the planes, falsifying passenger manifests, and blocking elderly tourists from coming home.

Taiwan is awesome. It's also intelligent because China murdered all the productive, intelligent, and artistic people in the streets during the cultural revolution.

That’s a real party switch.

PinochetIsMyHero [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

It both is and isn't. The KMT was officially Leninist back in the 1920s, mostly because they wanted support from the USSR against Japan but also because Sun Yat-Sen was a weird fuzzy-thinking socialist academic. CKS even sent his son to the USSR "for university" but really as a hostage to the KMT's good behavior. The KMT pulled back from the USSR when the U.S. started helping out (good ol' "Chiang Cash-My-Check"), but they were always a party of dictatorial control whose only real accomplishment was the destruction of the corrupt old imperial system. The Maoist revolution can in some ways be seen as a faction fight that the KMT lost.

The KMT's sole focus was and is maintaining its power, nothing more, nothing less. They don't really have any foundational governing principles other than "crush the opposition and rake in the cash."

If you think the DNC is influenced by the CCP, just imagine how much control they have over the KMT. KMT is nothing but a skin suit for CCP.

How about we split up shit holes like California, New York and Illinois so the rural people living in the states no longer have to live under the tyranny of urban elitists?

2
stoic_troll 2 points ago +2 / -0

How about we just trade our Californians for Taiwanese?

Despite Taiwanese being based while they live in Taiwan, they go through a magical transformation when they come to the US.

It’s like that meme with the kid becoming gay, but instead of gay, if Taiwanese move to the US 75% of them become progressive leftist retards.

No idea how it happens. Sorry based Taiwanese americans, but it’s true, tell your worse half to not be cuck faces when they move to america

I just finished reading a book about Claire Chennault called "Flying Tiger." It covers the escape to Taiwan and also mentions how there were those in the State Department who were intentionally thwarting CKS and trying to establish a "coalition government" with the commies. Well, peaceful coexistence with commies is NOT possible. Just look at Portland. The book mentioned one ambassador to China resigning and he stated that one of his reasons was because he had relieved some staff for their un-American activities, only for them to go back to the State Department and become his superiors. One even became a diplomat to Moscow. At the end of WWII, people were starving in China since the railways and roads had been bombed, and the retreating Japanese army had killed the plow oxen and raided all of the rice from the villagers, leaving nothing left behind to plant. At that time, the communists were very small in number, but while the Russians were arming them with the captured Japanese rifles, the US State Department refused to assist the Nationalists so as to avoid seeming partial. Because whenever they did aid them, the commies whined like bitches, just like they do today. Of course Taiwan had its problems during its rocky start, but CKS was an ally to the US, despite his faults. Just like the Shaw in Iran.

Didn't the governor of Puerto Rico recently encourage PR citizens in the US to vote Trump? My good friend is a based 'Rican, born in PR and raised in the Bronx. Thanks to shitlibbery in his family, he developed a strong work ethic in opposition and votes conservative every time. I would think that after they discovered that warehouse full of Trump's supplies that never got to them, that would be enough to open their eyes as to who the true enemy is.

Chiang Kai-Shek was never a good guy.

He banned all firearms the moment he got to Taiwan.

No. Taiwan deserves independence. Making Taiwan the 51st state would let China win. Taiwan is true China.
