Something like 20% of mail in ballots are rejected for errors. Like signature not matching, ballot miss marked, or improperly marked so it can't be read by machine. No postage, although in Washington postage is covered by the state. Even though there is drop boxes.

Heard it on a radio show. But if you search with duckduck new Jersey comes up, wisconsin comes up, and some guy named Greg plast has a story.

Also abc had this story

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/750000-mail-ballots-rejected-2016-2018-matters/story?id=73645323

It says the last two years 20%+- of mail in ballots rejected 2016-2018.

They link to a government site that probably has more info but it's all spread sheets.
