Ehh, I sort of believe hes coming forward to save himself. The story is out of the bag, and he decided to come out as a hero instead of be the fall guy.
(You realize the narrative was starting to shape up to this when Schiff called out Mr. B, right? He needed to get out in front or else it was a matter of time)

Given that he knew this for a while and donated to Democrats while he knew, he probably is doing this to save his skin.
Of course, if he had come out earlier with it he would have been Arkancided. Schiff gave him a big enough entrance that he doesn't have to fear being disappeared before he could speak.

I was surprised he was able to come clean without putting a target on his back. Most people in such a situation are knee deep in mud so the fact he can come out and not worry about being tangled up in all of this is a huge credibility factor.
I have no doubt he is credible, but also you have to think it you are Rudy Giulini, you reached out to him and told him, "listen.. if you come and help us, you might only get a slap on the risk. But if you sit on this and let it fester while Schiff calls your name out as a Russian asset, and you choose not to help us.. God help you.. the Democrats are feeding you to the wolves to save Biden. Think about how this is being framed on you. YOU are the fall guy."
