In the 7th inning, 3rd baseman Justin Turner was abruptly replaced by Edwin Rios. This confused a lot of people because Turner had been one of the most productive players on the squad. Lo and behold, some lab suddenly made a shock discovery that he tested positive for COVID and immediately notified the MLB. And despite being in an MLB-mandated bubble along with the rest of the team and their families, somehow some way he contracted COVID. Nothing suspicious about that at all. So during the post game ceremonies, the talking heads on TV, radio, and internet tabloids weren't talking about the Dodgers ending a 32-year drought-- they were talking about fucking COVID. 🤡🌎

Baseball has been relatively politics-free and except for the masks (which half of the players weren't wearing half of the time), you would think everything was normal. They even let people into the Rangers' stadium to watch the World Series. But of course we can't have that-- so they found some way to inject COVID back into the narrative.
