What are you talking about? 50 year old deadheads are the final wave of the last great peak of the Dead (86-90) and after Touch of Grey, the fans were much more mainstream.
Tucker Carlson has seen like 50+ shows and interviewed Phil Lesh.
Tucker Carlson is literally that 50 year old deadhead you're talking about.
Keep in mind, cannabis is only recently acceptable. The people you "see" are the people who are open about it. I'd argue that the people who only consume cannabis and not alcohol are much better off as a result. That doesn't mean they're going to tell you about it.
Interesting how you leapt to accusing me of saying it's ALL deadheads, instead of a specific type of person you would see in the lots.
Phil Lesh has been sober for how long now? Even Trey Anastasio is sober now (like 15 years now I think).
You really jumped far from the point I was trying to convey because I poked your monkey and he REALLY didn't like it. Sorry buddy. I hope you can someday see what I'm trying to tell you.
You can test for alcohol like cannabis. They just dont. Cannabis doesn't "build up" they simply test for inactive lipid soluble metabolites.
Of course dose makes the difference. Personally, I just have a very small amount of cannabis before bed. It helps me sleep and allows me to reduce the dosage of my necessary medication which is much stronger.
Unfortunately, I will be drug tested every year to continue receiving my necessary medication. That means I need to take more of the (more harmful) necessary medication to offset.
Cannabis drug tests should not be allowed under any circumstance in my opinion. It has been tremendously beneficial for me.
How long? I've only noticed benefits and it's been quite some time for me. Daily for about 4 years or so, plus an extra year of a few times a week. Very light use except for a few periods. Usually a month off a year, too.
Like Joe Rogan says, I like the "panic" it can make me feel. I like that it can humble me. However, I don't normally take enough for that, just a tiny puff an hour or two before I go to bed to loosen up muscle tension.
I almost never drink. I didn't even try alcohol until I was 20. I drink a few times a year, usually during the holidays or when it's offered to me, and only 1-3 drinks in a night.

I'm saying its the other way around. That it's about who talks about it, not who actually does it.
