No one in the right mind wouldn't reach for a taser and not a gun when confronted with a charging man with a knife.

I'd like to believe I know what you mean and I agree with you, but this sentence here says the exact opposite. Hopefully what you mean is do NOT bring a taser to a knife fight, and you realize Police are trained that if they're opposing a knife, use their gun.
