It's even worse than that. If the current trend continues, 2020's overall death count will be LOWER than 2018 and 2019. Both of those were average years.
As bad as the lock downs have been, they may have ended up saving a lot of lives. Perhaps there's been fewer car and work accidents.
Even if that turns out to be true, we need them to end. We CANNOT exchange our liberty for security.
I am not saying there is not misattribution of flu cases to COVID-19, that is certainly occurring to some degree—intentionally or not—but there is an explanation that doesn’t require a massive conspiracy involving medical professionals:
The social distancing etc is enough to stop transmission of flu due to it being less contagious; however, due to Covid-19 (presumably) being more contagious it’s spread isn’t stopped.
