I have a pig cooker and have cooked whole hogs for hours, but sometimes I make pork bbq in crock pot just for my family of four when there is a butt on the sale rack at the grocer. I just basically burn the outside out on the grill and melt some fat off, then cook it in crockpot with some sauce. Turns out pretty good.

I've done a butt in the oven overnight (use smoked paprika it's almost as good as a smoker), but a crockpot?! Sounds like a greasy mess.
