Punishments for lying under oath are only for conservatives.

261
Space_Force [S] 261 points ago +261 / -0

Apparently the law only applies to conservatives.

It's because we're more likely to follow the law.

Even to our own demise. I'm the most law abiding citizen you'll meet, but I'm getting prettttty sick of all these people dodging punishment.

The older I get, the less “prison time” is a deterrent when it comes to dropping the law abiding part

You know I wonder if we can have our retirement checks go to commissary in prison? We would run that place with ramen noodle currency.

Apparently chick prison is just fun sexy summer camp with awesome friends who totally get along just fine until those meddling white guards come in. Who WOULDN'T want that?!?!?

Cue "Lesbian on tv VS Lesbian in REALITY" memes that crush this whole premise lol

You’re 100% right.

It’s also the same with Christians vs Muslims.

Islam is barbaric in many ways but they aren’t cucks and cowards like many Christians are. Christians have rolled over to government and media slander/abuse for years now.

I can’t believe how many “Christians” threw their religion away for the covid lockdowns. Very few to zero congregations took a stand. I bet Muslims kept going to their Mosques anyways.

11
MagicRat3 11 points ago +11 / -0

It didn't help that the media would have cracked down and destroyed a church that stayed open! I know one California pastor who kept his church open, called it a "protest" because leftists love those, and said it'd be one thing to close the church if we were in the middle of the black plague. Everyone attacked him saying "You're calling black people a plague"? because they were such idiots.

If it were a mosque NOBODY would have said anything. Not one person. In fact, if anyone had called them out the entire leftist community would have PRAISED mosques for staying open.

Jackjet10 4 points ago +4 / -0

Which is why Christians were thrown to the lions in Rome for entertainment- I’m Christian but more of the crusader bend - I’m also a Texan but most of my elder and my sister a year younger are the kind of Americans that would definitely fled to Canada during the revolution-I constantly joke that me / spouse and progeny got that only Viking gene in our exclusively UK genealogy .

Islam has pushed Christianity into an offensive stance several times before. If they keep going this way, it’s going to happen again.

Nah Christians are pussies. Islam is patriarchal and Christianity is matriarchal. They have the upper hand.

6
Angerisagift 6 points ago +7 / -1

Well it’s a time old argument, what limits do you respect? What is beyond the pale?

Now Democrats are largely atheists and many are unabashedly Marxist. People convinced that this life is it and that power and money are all important will act accordingly.

Plenty of conservatives and many Republicans still have faith. They can still say the national motto with sincerity: In God We Trust. Biden couldn’t even recall one of the most consequential lines of the Declaration of Independence, in particular the recognition that human rights are endowed by the Creator and inalienable. Whether a deist, Jewish, Christian, most religions really, you can easily recognize the US framework as one that honors liberty of conscience.

Now the Left thinks all of this to be silly superstition from another era. A Creator? They sneer, they have a shallow understanding of the history of natural philosophy and science. They actually think that the inherent fatal flaws of a centrally planned economy will be fixed with tech improvements, not understanding human nature.

Now I will completely agree that far too many Republicans weren’t thinking about the long term health of the whole nation. Short term profits by employing illegal aliens. Short term profits by outsourcing as much as possible. Weakening our selves in times of crisis by an over reliance on countries that look forward to our collapse.

But I reject the notion that the best way forward is for Republicans to act like Democrat’s. I think it’s recommitting the party to what is in the best interest of the nation and communicating this. It means real effort in schools to reverse the trend of graduates more foolish than when they started. Our President has identified a lot of the simple (but demanding) tasks at hand.

I do agree that if nobody is held accountable it’s not just a miscarriage of justice, but a moral hazard. It becomes clear we have a caste of untouchables and that draining the swamp was just sloganeering. We are getting close to the point where patriots may have to act, but it would be so much better if we could restore the Republic without watering the Tree of Liberty.

9
Wtf_socialismreally 9 points ago +9 / -0

The thing is, if Republicans don't take a stand and do something (which the Democrats do constantly) then there will be no more Republicans in office.

Faith is being lost at a rapid pace. For a lot of people, Trump is the last hope for the country and with a Republican senate majority they should be willing to get more done than they are.

In a best case scenario, we have 4 years left under Trump. We don't know what the electoral map is going to look like in regards to Congress after all the unchecked fraud and cheating.

It is time to take a look at ourselves, our country and the people who represent us and really hold them to account. Or else The Party will retake it after the demoralization of every day Americans.

If we lose the Senate, we lose confirmations. The President won't be able to appoint people to his cabinet or justices.

I don't think calling the Republicans out for the toothless bitches they are is a bad thing.

The only one in this party with fangs is President Trump. Ted, to his credit, called Big Tech out too. But who else? Everyone else is all talk and no action. Where were they when it came to defending our president against a farce? Where were all the subpoenas for all the tech censorship and manipulation before now? Where is the support for an outsider to be approved for the DoJ and FBI that will actually make everything happen?

There is none. Because the support is coming from the people, not our representatives. Our representatives aren't properly representing the people.

I am not a Republican. I am not a Democrat. I'm the new Trump party, and I will vote accordingly.

2
570dbp 2 points ago +2 / -0

With relentless immigration, the republican party will be in danger. When the republican party is in control of all three branches, they should completely overhaul the immigration policy by shutting off chain immigration and the H-1B program.

That's a whole lot of bullshit.

Don't conflate so called 'conservatives' in government with actual conservatives on the ground. Mittens, Bush, Miss Lindsey, etc who are letting a lot of this stuff slide are not us. They're not on our side. They're not cowards, they're opposition.

As far as the conservative/MAGA movement. The left threw the first punch a long time ago and then gaslit well-intentioned, normal people for a few decades using psyops, dirty tricks, and a controlled media and academia.

We're not cowardly, we're playing catch up. The left are not smarter, they're not braver, they were just willing to flush the country down the drain to achieve their objectives and we're at the point where we're just now shaking off their sucker punch.

It doesn’t matter. Title 18:1001 makes it illegal to lie to Congress period. Under oath does not matter. If they were under oath, you’d just have two possible statutes to prosecute them under.

They could do it if they wanted to.

Has he done anything other than tweet and talk?

Ted Cruz, especially without popular support in Congress, can't do anything alone. Was the same with Trey Gowdy.

I don't think the idea is to repeal it. I think the idea is to narrow the scope. If websites are clearly making editorial decisions about the content being posted on them, they shouldn't be able to claim section 230 protections. I don't know how they're doing it now, but I think the idea is to fix that.

If I was a dictator and wanted to know all the intimate details of my populace, I’d create something the masses would swarm to and voluntarily give up personal information. I’d also give it a fun and unassuming name like... I don’t know, Facebook. Then the cattle would give me the exact recipe for mass control.

Big Tech is the single biggest threat to the Republic.

Democrat loyalty is for sale. If I was running something as huge as FB I'd have a few in my pocket. Only logical. I bet all the major companies pay the Dems for political favors. Pay to Play. If Russia and China can do it, you know Boeing, BoA, Pepsi, whatever are playing too. That's the system they built over the last few presidents. Now the Trump movement is burning it all to the ground. Glorious.

Donald J Trump is a once in a generation figure. There will not be a leader like him in ; years- he is sui generis. BUT we may have more than one principled, smart, and resolute candidate then. What POTIS has accomplished hasn’t been done alone. Legislation requires a legislature. Mitch deserves a lot of credit for championing all of these justices. Other senators would have caved on some or all just to be “collegial” and out of a misplaced sense of deference to the Senate’s decorum.

We should be focused on now, but I don’t buy that great leaders have to have one style or resume.

Socialists already control the legal system. If they don't send rioters to jail who kill people. I doubt they will arrest and charge these people with crimes against the state.

We already live in scary times where the mass censorship of American citizens doesn't get you thrown into prison and your business shut down.

If people actually opened their eyes they would already see a country mostly controlled by socialists. They are just waiting for the "go code" so to speak. If that happens next week or in another 4 years' time, it doesn't matter to them as they aren't going anywhere.

That's the main issue atm.
