I agree 100%. I think he needs to address his reasons for sitting on his info of a POTUS candidate's criminal activity otherwise he just looks like a partisan trying to smear Biden a week ahead of the election
Well I mean, he came out and said that his main reason for releasing it is to clear his family name. And he revealed he's been a lifelong Dem. So to me, it's pretty obvious that it's NOT altruistic, but it also doesn't sound partisan. Love of country may play in there as well, as he claims, but to me it's more of a calculated business move.

I took it as this all happened after Joe left the White House but has recently resurfaced with the laptop leading to him being called Russia disinformation. That's what caused him to come out to refute it, not because he thinks it's illegal. He just thinks it's shady and corrupt to lie about it now on election eve plus blame Russia.
Perhaps he came to the conclusion that he would be buried if Biden wins and scapegoated if Trump wins. The Post story is two weeks old. The deal fell apart about 3 years ago. Perhaps he was simply happy to stay out of it.
That and he found out about Devin Cooney being in jail while Archer and Biden roamed free. He admits self interest, 'my good name', etc., but the real self interest is not being the fall guy.
