If this dam breaks, it won't just affect China, it will affect the entire planet.

Fun Fact: The dam and resevoir are so large and heavy, it literally slowed the rotation of the earth.

No it didn't. That's retarded

Hey, I am no Bill Nye the Science Fuckwad but wouldn't a lot of things affect the Earth's moment of inertia in extremely small ways?

I thought it shifted the rotation, not slowed it? I need to look into more, I guess.

You be hot female ice skater. Do pretty 'spin on big toe' move. Arms legs out, you spin. Arms legs in, you spin faster. Arms legs back out, you spin at original speed.

They raised water 175 meters above sea level, taking the rotational energy of that mass and moving it further from the axis of rotation, meaning the rotational speed decreases.

It didn't change obliquity/precession just the speed of rotation.

Was 4chan right again?

Anyway, the dam is like 182 meters tall total if memory serves, so there's just a few meters until it overflows as well. If they're lucky it won't collapse. All the old streams of the 3gd seem to be dead now, so this is likely true.

This thing's been collapsing about as long as it took planet Namek to explode in DBZ.

Honestly I hope it doesnt break. It will probably kill millions of ppl if it did. I have no issues whatsoever with the chinese ppl. I have an issue with the CCP. They are not one and the same...

There were live feeds of this dam in partial rupture a few months back. They must be holding it together with bandaids at this point.

Does the CCP leadership care about what happens to its people? Hmm...

Why didn't they reinforce it? When they knew there was potential weakness?

There's no source for that graph other than this Twitter.
