Not enough helicopter love. Remember - the Helo is the true hero of the story, he saves Maverick, brings Goose back for burial, and pulls Wolfman out of the water after the final flight.
I've never seen one, but I have seen something hot on FLIR ripping through the mountains in NY pretty damn fast. I'm not saying aliens but I've never seen anything that agile.
The DOD likely had lots of tech they don't tell lowly stick-monkeys like me.
William Cooper wrote about some weird stuff aircraft-wise in 'Behold A Pale Horse'. Not saying I take stock in it, but he was murdered by law enforcement.
Consider this: The fastest non rocket powered plane and the highest flying plane, SR-71, began development as Project Archangel in 1958. This amazing piece of engineering was designed mostly with calculations performed with a slide rule.
So imagine kind of aircraft we have been able to design 62 years later, using the most advanced super computers in the world and AI.
That guy is a legend. His CO had to go apologize to the media saying this is not a cultural thing in the navy. His callsign was "Tess" and his last name was Stickles.
Flair, but no flare. We plunked the jet down on the aircraft carrier deck to avoid the tailhook snagging the arresting wires mid-flight and slamming the plane to the deck. We made fun of Air Force types with the saying, "Flare to land...squat to pee." KEK I imagine the current crowd of Navy folks would get cancelled pretty hard if they said that in today's PC environment.
Still lookin for that Top Gun ll even if it is compromised by the dang CHICOMMS and despite Tom Cruise being an adherent of a subversive mind control cult. Hopefully the Hollyweird woketards won't fuck this up too bad?
I prefer Naval Aviator. But airman works, thank you!
We were... inverted.
That's right! Ice...man
Sorry Goose, it's time to buzz the tower.
I have no idea what this is but it sounds cool. Heh
That about covers the fly bys.
What you been doin' up there? Some of that stunt flyin' or somethin'?

Awesome. 90 minutes straight of that and you'd have the perfect action movie.
Really enjoyed that. Badass is right.
What’s the vector, Victor?
What's our vector, Victor?
Conversation I heard once on the radios:
Unit A: "Roger"
Unit B: "Yeah Dave"
I was over Under, but he was under Dunn
Roger: “Huh?”
What’s your vector, Victor?
Shirley you can't be serious?
Keeping up foreign relations.

I would love to know more about secret weapon tech that our DOD possesses. So fascinating!
What is the Tic Tac thing?
Look up CDR Fravor's story, and the East coast hornet guys that picked up something strange on FLIR.
It's on YouTube.

I don't doubt your observations one bit.

“Transition to landing”
Goosebumps with Top Gun music playing!

Trailer looks good which we all know means nothing but here's hoping.
I think the USAF does shit like this. To be honest I don't know.
In the Navy we are all "sailors," but it's generally not appreciated by pilots.
Ships have pilots (think "harbor pilot"). Navy had to differentiate airplane pilot and designated them "Naval Aviators."
I think all airforce personnel are called airmen like army people are soldiers
The term "Airman" is still used in the civilian world (Private pilots, etc).
