I knew an old f-16 pilot who told me that the air force didn't have cool call signs like the navy did. But now it appears that they do. I'm guessing that movie must have influenced that.
Not enough helicopter love. Remember - the Helo is the true hero of the story, he saves Maverick, brings Goose back for burial, and pulls Wolfman out of the water after the final flight.
That's right! Ice...man
Sorry Goose, it's time to buzz the tower.
Maverick? What, did your mother not like you or something?

You got any info on that?
We don't have cool callsigns. I don't want to doxx myself so I won't give you mine, but cool callsigns are really just in the movies
Most of the time they relate to a funny story where you did something stupid, or are a play on words with your name.
It's a mild form of hazing, kinda. You don't pick your callsign it's given to you. And if you fight it, it sticks harder.
I have no idea what this is but it sounds cool. Heh
"Top Gun" the original movie.
That about covers the fly bys.
What you been doin' up there? Some of that stunt flyin' or somethin'?

We see you out there in "starboard dee," pede. Thanks.
Starboard D is Helo hell. I was a Romeo guy so I spent my time roaming around looking at suspect vessels, etc.
But good on you for knowing the slang!
Awesome. 90 minutes straight of that and you'd have the perfect action movie.
Really enjoyed that. Badass is right.
What’s the vector, Victor?
