If they took the package totally it would have tightened up the time it disappeared from the tracking.
With that they would have a narrower time to review security tapes, who to interview etc.
The packet still tracking opens it up to broader times, locations, and handlers. More difficult to find on cameras etc.
Just a guess IMHO.

This raises serious questions as to how they knew the package would be shipped when it was. Are they monitoring Tucker's activities, or is there a mole at Fox?
Ahh...and here's my 'hunch'. Tucker's producer tipped them off---and the producer is Jewish. Just a hunch.

Read the article - DHS and FBI have access to all package and tracking information thanks to good ol' GWB and the "Patriot" Act. They were spying on Bobulinski, and thus Team Tucker by extension, which is how they were able to hunt the package down and steal the contents in-transit.
Not if they used Fedex or UPS. The Feds would have (or at least should have) needed a warrant to open a USPS package.
So kinda like the Epstein jail cell tapes or the Paige/Strzok texts....."we dunno but they gone".
Some contents were copied, some could not be (non standard media) and were removed.
"Documents". They weren't expecting a flash drive. USB-C probably fucked them up.

Why did they do it that way? They're the FBI, they can just go in and seize it in the open under the guise that they're already investigating Hunter for money laundering, and there wouldn't be a damn thing we could do about it. Why resort to movie-tier shit? To avoid FOIA requests? They can delay FOIA requests for years; certainly until after Biden is out of office if they succeed in cheating enough for him to win (we all know he's going to resign early and hand it to CamelToe if their cheating succeeds).
Unless Tucker did it on purpose as a trap, or it was only one of many copies, this wasn't a smooth move, and I'm usually a big Tucker fan.
I don't have it figured out, at all, hence my post. I'm an economist, not a lawyer. Why not just "legally" take it and bury it like everything else instead of resorting to movie shit? Why did Tucker have it sent through the pony express in the first place? I like numbers, but this isn't adding up to my smooth brain. I need a big brain to spell it out for me.

This seems like it was most likely a domestic job, in which case it could only have been perpetrated by a three letter agency. A back door approach is the "apologize later if you're wrong" approach. The FBI is never held accountable so they will just say sorry when this is all over.
Legal interception might be seen as validating the claims? If the paper disappears "oops the false claims got lost in the mail", maybe tucker doesn't even realize certain pages are missing.
If the FBI is known to have done this "It must be serious, the FBI is involved"
I am skeptical, not that I think the FBI is above doing it, but the FBI has to know they have copies. No one would be stupid enough to send them out and not have backups
Assuming there are copies, it delays Tucker from reporting on it until even closer to the election, when more people vote every day.
Why was Tucker dumb enough to mail them? Feels like a setup.
