I would not manufacture any drug for 15 cents. These must be loss leaders.

When you crank out a billion pills you get the price down to pennies/pill. 15c is probably still a profit. Yes they have to cover research costs but POTUS is saying Americans shouldn't foot the majority of the bill while other countries leech off American research. Drug companies are welcome to charge everyone more, but POTUS insists on Americans having the lowest price matched.

Just like how POTUS said all Americans should get his coronavirus treatment for free, too. The elitists would never have ordered such a thing, let alone said it.

Is there a market for a billion pills? If OP got a 30 day supply for 15 cents, a billion pills would just net you 5,000,000 in revenue.

If there wasn’t a market for it it wouldn’t be such big business. There are pills that tens or hundreds of thousands of people take three times daily for years on end. Some cost more than others. There’s even a huge market for the marked down generic versions.

Yes you would. If you were producing generics that sell like hot cakes and everyone uses all the time.

Production of most drugs is SUPER cheap.
