Two scrips for me today, $4.90. One was $4.00, the other was NINTEY CENTS! Thank you President Trump. You already have my vote in NC early voting. MAGA!
Wow. That's awesome! In NZ, we have Pharmac. They're a government agency who is basically like GEOTUS and trade deals, but for medicines -
"Where a medicine is off-patent and generic versions are available, Pharmac typically tenders out the right to be the sole subsidised brand for a fixed period of time (usually three years). This causes pharmaceutical companies to compete with each other, driving down prices and reducing the subsidy costs, freeing up funds to subsidise newer patented medicines".
In short, this agency pisses off Big Pharma big time, they want us to buy brand-name drugs, instead of us being able to play them off against each other to get the best deal.
The vast majority of medicines in NZ are $5.00 per item, except if you buy a certain quantity in a calendar year - medicines are then free for twelve months, as you buy so many that the cost really does add up, and I have been there. You get issued a card to show that twelve-month status.
The only other time a medicine is not subsidised would be when it is not a "common" medicine - e.g. one that only a small amount of people use, and it would be prohibitive to subsidise overall.
Love how you guys are getting what you need, and not being screwed over for once. All thanks to GEOTUS, and not a certain other person with his "affordable" care Act.
