Just got back from voting early for Trump in Goodyear, AZ! Since I have been lurking this site every single day for a long time, I decided it was time to finally say, "Hi!".

TL;DR

Took me a long time to do this, since I used to be a Bernie Bro back in 2016, then I was solidly apolitical after he sold out. I even stayed apolitical after my former leftist "friends" pushed me out through gatekeeping just for having a conservative friend and accusing me of being a pedophile after I stood up to them. THAT WAS IN 2018. Granted, I was watching anti-SJW videos at the time, but I had a grave misconception planted in my head that liberals actually cared about minorities like me (I'm bisexual, but don't like to constantly announce it) at the time too. But things on the left just kept getting crazier and crazier before I finally started wondering...

...is r/thedonald really that bad?

Since that was the favorite strawman of those "friends" of mine, I naturally ended up finally checking it out in late 2018. You already know how the story is going to play out from here, it was a helluva lot better than just "not that bad" and got me to finally come to the right. Almost everything the left tells me turns out to be a lie in the end while almost everything the right (at least the populist right) has told me has turned out to be true. As just about every social media site I've been to or at least heard of just keeps getting worse and worse, making me want to SLAP MYSELF for once taking what I used to read on online forums and places like Reddit very seriously, confusing highly upvoted comments for how the general consensus actually thought, I feel this place has actually gotten a lot better with its newfound independency from Reddit. Oh yeah, and you already know how this is going to play out, fuck Reddit for purging every right-leaning subreddit, REDDIT IS ASSHOE!

END TL;DR (insert Filthy Frank "NOBODY GIVES A SHIT" MEME)

The basic slip is that I felt this was as good a time as any to finally come out, since I just voted straight Republican down the board at the polls. The only reason I did not wait for Election Day was out of convenience and needing to work. Those lines are going to be long on Election Day, and they are NOT going to be lining up for Biden, that's for sure. I saw the Trump banners and the buses coming back from that Goodyear rally, believe me. No way was I going to use that as an excuse to get complacent though, HELL NO. I'm with you all the way to drain the swamp FOR GOOD!

Since you said you were a Bernie Bro back in 2016, I'd like to talk about some key ideas of conservatism, in case you aren't familiar. The Bill of Rights is an important concept, and the founders of our country designed it to limit the power of government. These rights have been constantly under attack. Especially free speech this year. And the abuse of free speech by the media the last 30 years.

Another concept of conservatism is the general idea that citizens are responsible for taking care of themselves and their families, not the government. Socialism was tried in 1620 at Plymouth and Jamestown. Everything belonged to everybody, and anyone could take from the common supplies. Soon enough, more was being taken out than what was being put in. They enforced "If you don't work, you don't eat." This story applies to Bernie's idea of free college. Free college would ruin college. And, in fact, this is already happening. College is "free" already. And it's destroying college. Loan =/= free, but students act like it does. They sign up for worthless degrees at the most expensive colleges, don't study, do poorly, and act surprised when they have to pay the loan back. I got a M.S. degree for $15,000. I didn't go to a big "cool" college. I worked during college. I didn't party. I made decisions to better my future. The fact that these people who got $200,000 B.S. degrees to go to party colleges for 4+ years want to erase their loans is insulting. These people were ripped off by the college, and they want ME the taxpayer to pay it back. There are plenty of other options than college, and if people start choosing those options, college prices will go down.

Glad to have you, and hope the conservatism sticks. Because socialism sells itself with the lie that it will bring everyone up. Actually, it's the millstone that will drag everyone all the way down. Bernie's no good for this country and none of the socialists that will take his place are either.

Oh, I KNOW who Bernie Sanders really is, why socialism fails, and why the MAGA way is the only way, LMAO. I should've mentioned that I was a pretty moderate Bernie Bro thanks to those e-"friends" of mine and my unfortunately STILL BRAINWASHED older brother and I can't stand socialism for the life of me today. I have not even come CLOSE to buying Bernie's BS since 2016, and when he sold out AGAIN to Joe Biden this year, I wasn't in the least bit surprised...unlike some people I've seen who were literally bitching about his loss being "America's fault because we didn't give Bernie a chance". HA!

NEVER, EVER touching that insane cult again with a 39 and a half foot pole, since a six foot social distancing pole is too generous.
