Respectfully disagree, there were the Glen Greenwald type lefties who questioned the the military-industrial complex and influence peddling backslapping swamp. They wanted everything in the open. Where are they now?
Are we them? The common man (and woman) who said enough is enough to illegal immigration, to Wall Street killing off American jobs, and to endless wars?
Yeah, there were those types. Then they raised a generation of children that for the most part were purposefully excluded from any criticism, told that they are the future of the world and everything revolves around them, and that each and every opinion and feeling they have will shape the future of humanity because of how special they are. And now we have today.
I am old enough to remember when the left wanted more freedom of speech and nothing was off limits.
