If I were a spy I would not use digital anymore. Not with the inventions of ai voice manipulation. The recordings could very well be on tape or something. We're going to see older tech being used to skirt around these tech industries. People are already talking about setting up discussion boards that you can access without internet. Maybe they all know something is coming
The way forward isn't to abandon tech. The future will involve more end-to-end encryption and peer-to-peer networks rather than centralized, unencrypted client-server models that are common today.
I don't think people trust tech anymore. When something can effectively steal your voice from the word "hello" on a scam call, people have gotten more and more nervous about technology. It wouldn't be abandoning tech entirely but it would be skirting around it. Short term fix vs. Long term fix.
