As an Australian, I have a general understanding of the electoral trends within the United States. After a conversation with my missus, on the likelihood of GEOTUS winning the popular vote - I thought I would ask you champions.
Do you believe Trump will take home the popular vote this election, and please provide any anecdotal or factual supporting evidence. I’m keen to see what convinces you.
- Cheers cunts.
I don't. Too many NPCs, too much election fraud. Without California, he easily would.
Do we know what percentage of votes have been cast in Cali already?
Do you think the 3% loss from Democrat majority mail in votes, or even the current trend of silent supporters and trump supporter motor rally’s in LA, give any extra weight to a popular vote victory?
It's not the votes that have been cast...it's the ones that will be "found." California has been working hard to allow voter fraud.
I guess you could say I’m in a little bit of denial about the ‘found’ votes after the 3rd. I’m hoping the numbers are no where near enough to secure a shift. And will just go down as an abandoned attempt by the dems.
Wishful thinking for sure, but one can only dream.
Aussie here too, mate. Last time Killary won the popular vote by 2.2mil votes. California alone had 4.3mil more votes for the crooked witch.
I would love to see POTUS beat Regan's record back in 1980 winning the popular vote and sweeping the EC, but the way the crooks have tied up the big states and manipulated the voting to suit them I can't see the popular vote being won.
But that doesn't matter, POTUS will still sweep the Electoral College.
MAGA
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the electoral college has no legal requirement to vote the same way as their state/district.
I’d question more that the electoral college would be the easier choke point to manipulate the election than the mass mail in ballots.
Glad to see another aussie deep in the Donald. It turns my stomach just how vile the opinions of him are in the aussie. Parrot squawks from half way across the globe.
Sorry, mate, missed this reply.
The Supreme Court ruled, back in Jul, that states can bind their electoral votes to the popular vote winner. This upheld the laws already in place in 32 states and Washington, D.C., that allow the states to outlaw "faithless electors" who cast their votes for candidates other than those chosen by the voters. Remember that back in 2016 some electoral college votes from states won by Trump didn't go to him because of fuckwits.
So yes, of course, they could manipulate it here, but the mail-in vote fraud will endure that Biden gets the pop vote. Long way to go yet, Trump will still bring this home. MAGA.
I just wish we had some pollies with balls, like Trump, back in Aus so that we could MAGA ourselves! Too many sold-out polies in bed with Chy-na. Look at Vic! Dictator Dan.
Cheers!
Thanks for the reply.
And yeah you’re not wrong about the state of things here. I sleep well at night knowing we honestly don’t have the rights that Americans do, just the illusion. Call is sweet abandon, blissful surrender. It keeps me from feeling too much.
Must admit that I’ve been getting more and more upset with Clive Palmer lately, doing his best to be the ‘Trump’ of our nation, but with very little of the genuine integrity and concern for the every day person that Trump seems to have.
No proof of him getting the PV, but electoral may be a different story, provided Trump and his voters make it happen on the third.
It depends on how many come out in blue states who would not normally vote because it was a wasted vote. Remember in 2016 Clinton won 487 counties nationwide, compared with 2,626 for Trump. If the heavily populated area's come out knowing the popular vote is in play there is a chance albeit a slim one to overcome NY and Commifornia.
Do you think hatred of trump is a stronger draw than support of trump?
If many red Californians didn’t turn out to vote in 2016 due to the ‘inescapable’ democrat vote win, would not the democrats this time around be less inclined to vote if they assume a Trump victory?
Historically, hatred of another candidate isn't enough to propel an unpopular candidate into the presidency. Look at Clinton, Romney, and McCain.
I agree with other posters that it has a lot to do with fraud this year. Also, the media has gone more extreme than I have ever seen. So unclear how that will effect low info Americans who usually don't vote but think orange man bad.
I’m not on the ground in America, but from an outsiders perspective - It feels that this election has far more person to person information sharing.
I’ve noticed a larger trend of average every day people educating and informing/correcting those they come into contact with.
This could just be lack of exposure to other elections, or just the direction that politics had taken in tandem with social media - but regardless it gives me a glimmer of hope that trumps victory will be an absolute fucking avalanche.
I think the riots will have turned people too. I don't think Democrats assume a Trump victory. They expect a Democrat landslide that is not going to happen because the media has been gas lighting them for 4 years. Trumps base will come out in force.
Enough to secure the popular vote?
I think Trump's base will come out in force. I don't believe there is 80 million who hate Trump that vehemently. They will be holding there nose to vote for Biden. I think there are millions of secret Trump supporters who are just tired of the cancel culture. To win the popular vote I don't think so because of new York and Cali being so heavily populated.if the sticks come out though who knows. It could be close.
There's a decent chance assuming the Black vote is truly north of 20% and he receives around 50% of the Hispanic vote that some polls have suggested. It's hard to overcome NY and California, but possible.
I’ve seen the numbers state that even with a fraction of the black vote he wins, but not in relation to the popular vote.
Would be nice to see though. And you gotta assume he feels pretty damn comfortable with the current numbers in Florida.
