We need to clone Clarence Thomas 8 times and fill all 9 seats with him. He has been the only person on the court who has proven himself to be reliably conservative and constitutional throughout the years.

Or maybe he just interpreted NC's laws the way they were written? It seems you should be mad at the NC Legislature. We don't want judges legislating from the bench right? Well that should include when it goes in our favor as well.

Thats completely incorrect. The laws states that only the Legislature can frame the election rules, not the board of elections.

His ruling is very much against what the law says.

I wasn't aware it was the NC BOE that set the rules. I retract my previous statement if that is indeed true.

Stop trolling and read the fucking article:

A federal appeals court earlier this month had allowed the nine-day extension that was set by the State Board of Elections amid the pandemic, as part of a legal settlement. "The extension simply makes it easier for more people to vote absentee in the middle of a global pandemic that has killed over 200,000 Americans, " the appeals court ruled. In their challenges to the state board's action, Republicans argued the board had tried to "rewrite the election code" and to usurp the authority of the General Assembly, which had allowed only the three-day extension in June

I'm not trolling. I'm a .win OG and was on the reddit sub for years before that.

Now that's out of the way, why would they rule differently then they did for Pennsylvania? Because the laws are different.

The supreme court isnt "enforcing" federal election law, it is deciding if rules made are made are legal in the state listed on the docket.

Would you please do us both a favor and read the article in the OP?

The rule established by the NC legislature is to count ballots 3 days later. The SCOTUS has now accepted not that 3 days, but 9 days because a lower court said so!

Kavanaugh is either trying to prove something....or he has been threatened. I am not sure which. If he is making these decisions on some weird notion that they will "prove his impartiality" -- he is a complete and utter fool.

There is two weeks of early voting in NC. So why do we need another 9 fucking days? It’s a month of counting. Why the fuck would the Supreme Court allow liberals to change the election process days before a huge election??

Exactly. And for "liberals" we means a fucking appeal court that legislated from the bench:

"The extension simply makes it easier for more people to vote absentee in the middle of a global pandemic that has killed over 200,000 Americans, " the appeals court ruled.

If this is not a political ruling, I don't know what is!

No, theyre not partisans. So no way to be a traitor. Rs can challange this again after election day, that's the essence of the decision. The ballots have to be seperated.

You're getting confused with that other State, I don't remember which one but it was not NC where they mandated to keep the ballot separate.

This is a different thing!

2020REBOUND 2 points ago +2 / -0

maybe yes, it was Pennsylvannia

Italians_Invented_2A [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

That's right, it's Pennsylvania where they said to keep the ballot separate. And that's only 3 days after the elections.

Here it's 9 days, and no indication that the ballots will be separated!

SCOTUS accepted that North Carolina can count ballots up to 9 days after the elections!

Not only Roberts, but now even Kavanaugh became an activist judge!

ACB did not participate.

"Everyone agrees," Gorsuch wrote, "that the North Carolina Constitution expressly vests all legislative power in the General Assembly, not the Board or anyone else."

The democratically elected legislature establishes a rule, but then the deep state bureaucrats invent their own rules to favor Demonrats, and the SCOTUS sides with the bureaucrats and not the legislature!

I'm so fucking pissed!
