My wife was having a little dinner reunion recently with her sorority sisters, of which the nut was one. She told everyone that she would only attend if 1) They all wore masks, 2) They all sat six feet apart, and 3) No eating or drinking (because they would have to remove their mask).
The state dictating behavior, down to the smallest detail. Expressing its power through mountains of bureaucracy, rules, regulations, punishments, fines, official announcements, etc. The people obediently waiting for their next instruction, standing still until given an order to move by the state, and then, only as far as the order tells them to.
This is an enactment of the engame of leftism - californians must be ecstatic about it.
I have a lot of them on my Facebook. They post constantly shaming anyone they see who isn't shivering in fear in their basement about The Coof, and legitimately believe we need to remain locked down well into next summer if not longer.
New York is similar. My great aunt's husband won't let us visit her because he's afraid she'll catch the Coof. Also, she's dying of an inoperable, malignant brain tumor.
This is what true “democracy” brings you. When the uneducated, mediocre, and flat out stupid people can overwhelm you with sheer numbers, you get a failed state. Dunning-Kruger Effect be damned, this state is filled with idiots. I didn’t even read some of the textbooks in college and I got top grades in some classes. I don’t even consider myself the smartest person ever and I graduated from a UC with honors. The population is filled with low IQ people who embrace herd mentality and will willing enslave themselves to fit in.

At the height of this chinavirus nonsense, the vast majority of folks on community forums, Facebook groups, etc, were going NUTS...following the government 'mandates' as if the government actually have two shits about them. These folks then turned into mask nazis down the line.
As this shit show has progressed, and the numbers have come to light, and as people have started to realize how massively overblown this whole thing really is, there's been a steady progression away from blindly following what the commie "leaders" say.
The latest episode: Halloween.
LA County and local officials have been pushing posts and multimedia discouraging people from taking their kids out to trick-or-treat or having any sort of Halloween gathering. The pushback from locals has been EPIC. It's like suddenly, everyone's balls dropped simultaneously. Suddenly, everyone agrees with my anti-commie posts and "99.96% survival rate" posts. People are coming around and understanding that, yes a risk exists, but no, we're not hiding under a rock any longer. As a bonus -- and one I never expected to see -- an awful lot of folks are positively about Trump and dong the work to convince others to vote for the madman.
It's just...what even is this timeline?! What an amazing time to be alive.

For the rental I just went to thrifty and the guy hooked me up; I told him I booked online I need to pick up but I can’t wear a mask, can I come in? he said “I can help you” and that was it.
For my bank, it turned into a shit show, I went to a different branch stood in line, they called me up, I said I need to cash a check, I’m a customer, but I can’t wear a mask, and the teller said “no problem come on up”.
