Several Republican Senators said they wouldn't vote for a replacement and McConnell said they would not be holding any sub-committee hearings on a new AG. They even colluded with the Dimms to block the normal August recess and kept the Senate open so as to prevent Trump from replacing the worm with a recess appointment. Not only are you clueless of those facts you also seem to be, not surprisingly, clueless about how a President's cabinet and administration is populated. It's the Senate that determines who is actually hired, not the President. A President can only nominate people, he has no power to confirm and actually hire them. BTW, that's how the President ended up with the swamp breeder Bushie Barr. Trump didn't even know him, but the Senate wanted him and confirmed him even though Barr needlessly praised both Comey and Mueller during his confirmation hearings.
